Summary of Minuteman PAC's election activities
Efforts instrumental in handful of crucial races

The Minuteman PAC fought long and hard this election to ensure that our nation acts in time to halt the growing flood of illegal aliens who are rapidly drowning our nation in crime, welfare costs, and elevated risk of terrorist subversion and attack.

Looking at the low voter turn-out by conservatives, and the big shift away from the GOP by "Reagan Democrats," I see the results of the 2006 mid-term elections to be a strong repudiation of President Bush's open border agenda and a rejection of the generally weak pro-sovereignty record of the 109th Congress. In support of proven border security champions, I have some great news to report from this election cycle for Minuteman PAC-supported candidates, including:

  • The landslide victory of patriot and pro-border security leader Congressman Tom Tancredo in Colorado's 6th district.

  • The absolutely crucial victory of Tim Walberg in Michigan's 7th district.

  • A resounding win by Doug Lamborn in Colorado's 5th district. The former state senator was heavily supported by Minuteman PAC in his primary and general election.

  • The hotly contested battle for Virginia's 2nd District was won by Minuteman PAC-supported incumbent Thelma Drake.

  • A majority of victories for other Minuteman PAC-supported candidates, including wins by Michelle Bachmann (MN-6), Peter Roskam (IL-6) Geoff Davis (KY-4), Bill Sali (ID-1), Steve King (IA-5), Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ), Marilyn Musgrave (CO-4), and many others.

Thankfully, I can say with absolute certainty that Minuteman PAC played a significant role in getting all the above outstanding candidates elected and into office.

Across the country, Minuteman PAC ran independent expenditure TV and radio ads, placed print advertisements, and in many cases provided the maximum allowable contribution directly to campaigns.

Additionally, even in our "losing" contests, I strongly feel that our efforts were not in vain.

As I'm sure you know by now, Randy Graf lost his bid for Arizona's fiercely-fought 8th district seat, in the heavily-trafficked illegal border crossing capital of America.

Also, as you'll recall, Minuteman PAC was instrumental in helping to beat his liberal, pro-amnesty opponent in the primary.

Regrettably, though, once the National Republican Congressional Committee saw that its "preferred" Republican-In-Name — Only candidate was defeated, they pulled all of their funding from that race — leaving Graf to fend for himself.

The Minuteman PAC stepped in and provided much-needed assistance to that campaign in the form of Independent Expenditures for TV, radio, and print ads, as well as massive get-out-the-vote efforts.

In the end, our efforts made it a much closer contest than projected, but did not provide victory for Randy Graf.

Make no mistake, it was important to take a stand for a true-blue pro-border security patriot running for Congress when the national party abandoned him and left him with none of the GOP support he deserved and had every right to expect. Minuteman PAC made a huge difference in the Graf campaign.

But disaffection with the GOP and high Democrat turn-outs nationwide hurt in Arizona, as they condemned the Republican Congressional majority to reap what they had sown.

In the end, I can declare our money wisely spent, our efforts largely successful, and our future limitless.

As you can see with our victories and even in our defeats, Minuteman PAC has already demonstrated real strength and real political results in our very first national elections.

In little more than a year, direct communications with our activists have exploded to 500,000 households, with over 8,500 volunteers answering the call to come to the border and assist in Minuteman mobilizations and construction of our border fence project.

Many Americans have taken part in our well-known citizens' watch along the Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas border, and along the Canadian frontier, alerting the U.S. Border Patrol as illegal aliens — by the legions — are sighted. More volunteers are building state-of-the-art border security fencing on private property.

It's a hands-on approach forced upon citizens by the federal government's total failure to halt the illegal alien invasions.

And thanks to your support, Minuteman PAC made a crucial difference in electing several stalwart pro-border security, anti-amnesty federal Senators and Representatives — and in defeating some truly bad candidates, including a liberal, open borders Congressional incumbent.

And I expect more great results from our principled advocacy in 2007 and beyond!

Sincerely yours for America,

Chris Simcox
