Dr. Laurie Roth, a national radio talk-show host, has joined the race for president on the American Independent Party ticket.

The self-described patriot and conservative is already on the ballot in California, and intends to get her name listed in the other 49 states.

"I love my country and believe I have the right ideas at the right time — not political, not legal, and not international, but boldly American and freedom-loving," she said.

The resident of the state of Washington, who has a Ph.D. in counseling and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, pledges to —
  • Institute a federal 2% point of purchase tax, with no group exempt. She predicts this proposal will yield 10-20 trillion dollars annually "while citizens will be liberated from massive, controlling tax oppression."

  • Make the U.S.A. energy independent within four years — through freeing up America's energy resources, disconnecting with OPEC, and pushing employment in energy infrastructure jobs: natural gas, oil, nuclear, solar, and alternative fuels.

  • Secure America's borders — by utilizing available technology and resources to stem illegal immigration and stop illegal drug traffic.

  • Create jobs. The 2% point-of-purchase tax will create millions of American jobs. Small businesses and home-based business will get a major boost.

  • Restore America's international relationships and image — and stand against Islamic radicalism.

  • Promote Judeo-Christian values in America. This includes acknowledging that our nation's historical strength comes from God and the Holy Bible; placing more emphasis on prayer, freedom, and exceptionalism; and lowering unreasonable regulation, taxation, and litigation. Those who disagree will not be assailed.
The "Roth Revolution" website states that Roth is a "patriot and survivor who loves God, family, country, and the Constitution of the United States."

She follows and covers "hard-hitting issues that affect and infect our entire country" and takes on "issues America faces most and the media and political power class avoid."

She just published a book titled "The People's President," outlining her stances.

In California, Laurie Roth is running for President on the American Independent Party of California.
