Red flags and ‘coincidences’ abound in bombshell WSJ report covering Ford’s key witness

Is the house of cards beginning to collapse on the Democrat Party the very day the U.S. Senate holds a cloture vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh?

The additional FBI investigation Democrats demanded turned up a major revelation, but one that does not work in their favor, or in the favor of Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her.

In what looks to be a bombshell, the Wall Street Journal reported that Leland Keyser, the friend Ford claimed was at the party where the alleged incident took place, told the FBI she felt pressured by other friends of Ford to adjust her initial statement.

From the WSJ:

A friend of Christine Blasey Ford told FBI investigators that she felt pressured by Dr. Ford’s allies to revisit her initial statement that she knew nothing about an alleged sexual assault by a teenage Brett Kavanaugh, which she later updated to say that she believed but couldn’t corroborate Dr. Ford’s account, according to people familiar with the matter.

Leland Keyser, who Dr. Ford has said was present at the gathering where she was allegedly assaulted in the 1980s, told investigators that Monica McLean, a retired Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and a friend of Dr. Ford’s, had urged her to clarify her statement, the people said.

The statement to the FBI offers a glimpse into how Dr. Ford’s allies were working behind the scenes to lobby old classmates to bolster their versions of the alleged incident, as were Judge Kavanaugh’s.

To reiterate, the Ford friend who approached Keyser, Monica McLean, is a retired FBI agent.

Keyser said in a statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee that she had no memory of the event Ford described, but “clarified” in a later statement she believed her friend’s account.

And, proving that it is indeed a small world, McLean is being identified as the person Ford allegedly coached on taking a polygraph test, according to the accuser’s former boyfriend — McLean’s attorney refuted the allegation.

The attorney, David Laufman, also denied that his client pressured Keyser.

“Any notion or claim that Ms. McLean pressured Leland Keyser to alter Ms. Keyser’s account of what she recalled concerning the alleged incident between Dr. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh is absolutely false,” Laufman said.

Speaking of small worlds, The Daily Caller reported that Laufman is a former FBI offical who questioned Hillary Clinton alongside agent Peter Strzok.

Laufman left the FBI earlier this year and Politico reported then that he was “in charge of the Hillary Clinton email probe and aspects of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election — an inquiry handed off last May to special counsel Robert Mueller.”

What a coincidence, right?

The WSJ report has some suspecting this may be what Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley was referring to in a blistering letter to the Ford’s lawyers demanding they turn over evidence they claimed to have. Grassley raised eyebrows at the end of the letter when he indicated that there may have been some “direct or indirect communications” going on.
