Using the First Amendment to create a shameless nation

In Illinois a Northwestern University professor is taking heat for allowing an after school demonstration of live sex as part of his human 'Sexuality' class. Rather than depending on the student's imagination and discussions the instructor thought a live show would have a greater academic benefit.

On February 21, 2011 John Michael Bailey invited his class to voluntarily attend an after school demonstration produced by someone not attending the school, of an electrically powered sex toy.

The University initially shook off any responses from inquiries about the incident but after national attention began to swell they started to look deeper into the matter. At this moment no action has been taken.

The class offering originally saw enrollment of over 600 students and to date has had panels of gay men, kinky networkers, a swinging couple and two convicted sex offenders. The class description was not "Porn 101" but it may well have been.

In an interview with Fox News Mr. Bailey said "I do not wish to surrender to sex negativity and fear." It seems that the professor has surrendered to everything else that can be imagined and now will have to surrender to an investigation promised by Northwestern President Morton Shapiro.

In typical language for academic liberals Mr. Bailey said "I expect many people to disagree with me," but concluded that "thoughtful discussion of controversial topics is a cornerstone of learning." In this day when many parents are footing the bill for their children's college tuition and expenses we can only wonder if they attend the discussions on Mr. Baileys class they will be able to remain "thoughtful" even if they want to regurgitate or worse.

Perhaps, the only thing worse than this news story, was the reactions and behavior of those who are reporting it. On Fox News March 4, 2011 Megan Kelly discussed the subject of Professor Bailey's after school demonstration with a gaggle of other female commentators. Amid the giggles, laughter and snickering were comments about not censoring university academics and first amendment rights.

There is little doubt that the founding fathers would stand firmly behind everyone's first amendment rights to freedom of speech even if they were alive at this day. There is also little doubt to all who have not lost their senses that modern academics, the media and the entertainment industry are not standing behind the first amendment: they are hiding behind it.

It is possible to see everything Prof. Bailey has shown or discussed in his class and a plethora of things even he couldn't imagine on the internet. When did this kind of interest get connected to academic pursuits? In fact it has not. But it is connected to the rising star of prurient national interest in all that is sleazy and degenerate.

It is producing a shameless society that is rapidly pushing the envelope toward the complete demise of the nation and the reprobation of many a good mind. The minds are those of our own sons and daughters.

The day of "For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret." (Eph 5: 12) may have long since passed and now rather than being hushed we are urged to give classroom demonstrations of our worst behavior; what folly to pretend that the framers intended to shield this with the first amendment.

The richest but most backward and deeply apostate church of the first century was Laodicea. To that church Jesus said "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." (Rev 3: 18)

What a leap from simple nakedness to actual demonstrations of human depravity, and with the help of modern academia we don't have to feel any shame at all; instead we can dignify our worst behavior with "thoughtful discussion." Following that we can join in with frolicking giggling news commentators who make light of it all and end their discussions with platitudes about first amendment rights.

In the last days the Bible predicts that many old errors will resurface but until the present day we could not have known what Jude meant by the word "foaming" in his rebuke of the prurient in his own day. "Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever." (Jude 1: 13)

In fact those who follow the signs and prophecies of Christ's second coming are not only watching the historical guide posts of the rebirth of Israel in the spring of 1948 and the revival of the European powers but they are seeing the predicted apostasy in both society and the church.

One of the clearest signs is the fall into the state of reprobation. Put simply, a reprobate mind doesn't debate about right and wrong; it can no longer differentiate between the two. It is a final stage of the world's demise and if we continue to hide our worst behavior under the protections of the first amendment; it will be our demise as well.

Are we approaching the conditions outlined in the following warnings of scripture? Many of the best prophets, preachers, educators and statesmen think we are; how about you?

"And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient"-" Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." (Romans 1: 27, 28, 32)

Not only is the immutable law of reciprocation (Reap and Sow) in play but the cost of the future is about to give our nation a very rude awakening.

After the dust bowl days of the twenties investing in the futures market began and for those who could carefully weigh supply and demand and fluctuation of prices it became very profitable.

Crops were purchased before they were ever planted in some cases, in the hopes of buying for less and selling for much more when the prices had risen in the future. It was and still is a very risky business.

We are gambling with the future of our own children by producing a crop of souls that can be bought cheaply. Godless, immoral academics, politicians, entertainment moguls and others may think their lives (our children) can be purchased with the loose change of liberalisms latest currency or its misuse of the freedoms set forth in the first amendment but the future price of their lives will be far more than anyone can pay. This is a loss an entire generation will have to pay for, very dearly.

The sense of urgency laid upon God's servants in the last days is a call to everyone to take heed. It is not a collective lunacy that they happen to be experiencing all in the same moment of time. It is the Lord's doing and it is because he loves us all and knows we cannot afford the price of the future we are creating.

In the Day of the Lord no one will be able to stand and proclaim that they have the purchase price for their own worst behavior much less for those they have also led astray. What sort of an excuse is, "It was my first amendment right? In fact, they will not be able to stand at all.

"And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Revelation 6: 15-17)

From now to very end we still have before us as a nation the option to hide ourselves in the Rock of Ages why would we wait until all that is left is to hide from the Rock of ages under the rocks of the earth? If the rocks can't hide us how will hiding behind the first amendment fare?
