Prophecy has no entertainment value but Piers Morgan does

During an interview with mega-pastor Rick Warren on CNN host Piers Morgan has exclaimed that the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are 'inherently flawed.' Perhaps Morgan, like many liberals of the day are tired of being told that it is they, along with the rest of humanity, which are inherently flawed with something the bible calls the sin nature. (Romans 3: 23)

No one escapes this moral malady, but many today would like to have it all be explained away by scientists, apostate ministers and priests and every yellow journalist that jubilantly justifies their jaundiced junk jibe through the media, and the internet. But according to the bible, the message will not go away until the very return of the Lord Jesus Christ in victory.

After adopting swelling titles and tagging their names with letters, the scientist, who can neither prove or disprove the existence of God, have broken out to become the high priests and ultimate authorities of all things.

God cannot fit into the three pound mass of gray matter that resides atop their shoulders, but they presume to gather all the secrets of the universe in this receptacle and proceed to divulge such things as the origin of species, the big bang theory and the ever expanding universe. With or without being able to prove their own conclusions they have authorized themselves quite beyond the doubting or disputations of the dumbed down minions, proselytes and victims of the Dewey system of modern education they haply lead.

It is unlikely that those who presume to tell us what happened eight billion years ago will have any idea when the prophesied arrival of the antichrist, that final world ruler empowered by the god of this world, will come on the scene. Most scientist of the day, have no idea what the last election in America really means, the future is a mythical mist in which man pulls himself up to the stars by shear technological genius, at the same time never once noting their ever descending trek into all that is perverted, wicked and Godless is far outpacing their technological advances.

Forget the idea that politics and religion don't mix, politics can't even get the attention of the scientist unless it is some fake farcical pseudo-scientific cause like the dangers of global warming. Some say were going toward a big freeze while others insist were about to get toasted.

Will a scientist warn the world that the moral deprivation of a nation or the world has heated up to the point of ignition? Don't hold your breath, just go out and hug a tree, praise a wind generator or plug in your Chevy Volt while a generation with a head full of stars, goes to hell in a hand basket.

It is here where we see just why God chose prophets, preachers and his own kind of messengers to make such proclamations. It is also at this point that we are forced to reiterate the fact that God does not ask his messengers to prove anything; he has already proven it in the life, ministry, death and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ. All his messengers are told to do is, proclaim it. (Mt 28: 18f)

Jesus Christ has clearly shown mankind not only who he is, but that he loves mankind. Conversely the god of this world (Satan) has chosen to remain clandestine and unknown; it is the secret of his power to have mankind ignorant of his ways and his very existence. What is no secret is that he has no love for mankind, but he knows he is already judged and seeks to take as many unsuspecting men and women with him to his final destination.

The opposite picture is painted by Christ who wants his own to know of his existence and what he plans for us in the future. It is not stupidity, but the sin nature, wickedness and that old pillar called self that keeps man in darkness, Satan would not have it any other way. Christ said "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." (Jn 15: 15)

It is not the absence of a thousand points of light that brings man down, but the presence of two points of darkness. One is to be ignorant or unbelieving to the gospel of Christ which is God's sole way of redeeming the souls of men. The other, especially in this late hour of time, is ignorance of the voluminous warnings of that part of scripture we call prophecy.

The promised return of the Lord Jesus Christ to bring judgment to the earth is no hidden doctrine, but is replete with signs, and pictures of a generation that will have reached its peak in wholesale worldwide apostasy and full blown sinfulness throughout the world. The apostate church will be seeking its 'best life now' and the world will be into its worst behaviors yet, all at the same time life will become cheap, love will be lost and faith in the God who created everything will be at an all-time low.

Making fun of such prophetic warnings has begun, but it is no surprise, it is itself, part of the prophecies. In reality prophecy has no entertainment value at all. There is nothing funny, amusing or attractive about it. Mocking prophecy is not new.

Ancients laughed at Noah as he dragged giant planks of gopher wood into the desert to build an ark. The newly delivered band of Israelites who escaped the oppression of Egypt wasted no time and began to dance and party in the long absence of Moses who was busy talking with God on Mt. Sinai. Big traditional celebrations accompanied the Jewish calendar with attendance from proselytes from around the world. As these times of mirth and celebration were going on, God's prophets were stoned, jailed, thrown in mud pits and slain because they were warning that the temple and the temple system together could not substitute for being holy and dedicated to God.

King Solomon, who declared that there was no new thing under the sun must have contemplated the nature of fallen man and in some way he saw that even in the future, men would mock the prophetic, even as they partied themselves into a collective stupor. In 70 AD the party abruptly ended, and there has been no temple or partying since. Something far more serious than the events of 70 AD is nearing the history of mankind today.

Peter commenting on man's persistence in making merry while dismissing the prophetic said, "That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 2: 2-4)

It may seem entertaining to hear Piers Morgan attempting to void God's word and the constitution in this day where nothing is sacred. It might almost seem funny to hear the gays have yanked every verse of the bible about the sin of homosexuality and produced their own, 'Queen James" version, but there is nothing at all even remotely humorous in this warning. To wit:

"And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth." (Rev 11: 18)

Prophetic warnings may seem weakened because of a few foolish ministers who decide to name dates against the warning of Christ who said no man will know the exact day or hour of his return. Likewise the passing of the new millennium or the much touted Mayan calendar may embolden the scoffers, but the prophetic remains on course. Not even Piers Morgan can do much about that.

Journalist Megan McArdle of the Daily Beast doesn't think Morgan is funny at all. In a scathing article entitled, 'Should Piers Morgan Be Deported?' Dec 27, 2012 she said, "I mean, yes, it is a little bit funny to picture the President explaining why we're not going to deport Piers Morgan: you can imagine the scene appearing in a dark comedy. But then it stops being funny because America is not supposed to be dark comedy; it's our actual country."

Along the same lines, as it pertains to the evil spirit that troubles this world, Satan, his minions and all those who follow him will one day be deported directly to hell. In the interim, all the evil and perversion that is done here is not funny because, after all, this is our actual world!
