Christine Weick: brave Tennessean witness for Christ and a most shameful day for America

On a day when Muslims spread their prayer rugs in America's National Cathedral with their backs to the large cross of Christ hanging there, the famous cathedral was void of witnesses for Christ, church protestors and real Christians of any kind – except for one!

Is Christine Weick God's prophetess or just a single woman, a stone (Lk 19: 40) that cries out – because others will not?

In a video provided by WND, Christine is seen rebuking the Muslims in the National Cathedral for turning their backs against the large hanging cross. She also tells them that they should be holding their gathering in one of their own mosques.

Since we are now entering a full blown apostasy of the Christian church and many historic denominations and Catholicism have already dropped out of the biblically based faith we are not at all surprised by yet one more public display of the falling away.

It is the symbolism inherent in the fall of the National Cathedral that is impossible to miss.

The Cathedral had its corner stone laid in the presence of President Theodore Roosevelt. Burials at the NC included Woodrow Wilson, Helen Keller and George Dewey. Major services were held in the historic church for Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, just to name a few.

If it were just irony that Muslims were granted permission to use the cathedral we could move on to the next story and pass it all off as more nonsense from the ecumenicists, but this is high level mockery considering that no Christian churches are allowed in most Muslim nations and those that do exist are under heavy persecution, fire bombings and mass murders.

A careful examination of both Islamic history and the Koran would leave anyone reeling when it is seen that the object of the Muslim faith is to violently remove all those who do not receive the Islamic religion and make it their own.

Our penchant for religion is second only to our penchant to sin which accounts for both the profusion of various religions and the large number of adherents to them. The world view of religion borrows the mentality of the pop-culture generation to establish, justify and qualify the false and dangerous religions of the world. If a religion has many adherents it is justified, if it has large numbers such as the 1.5 billion Muslims who cling to Islam it is then called a "great religion."

Unfortunately another 8 billion may adopt a religion and in God's eyes it means nothing if it does not point to the Savior of the world. God is not in a popularity contest, he is only in the business of saving men's souls – this is impossible without the Savior.

Christ was not as cosmopolitan as the clergy of the National Cathedral. He recognized that others would come in the name of religion and try to pull men to their own destruction through lying and deceit. To wit:

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep." (Jn 10: 1-2)

The door Christ went through was his brutal death on the cross for the sins of the world. The meanderings of one ordinary man who emerged from the caves of Medina with a vision that now leaves churches burned, people beheaded and nations in fear of terrorism also leaves men wholly dead in their trespasses and sins.

The Apostle Paul noted that men were not in need of another religion, but of something known as a quickening.

"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience." (Eph 2: 1-2)

And just who is the "prince of the power of the air" you ask? He is that old serpent better known as the devil or the god of this world. He doesn't give a hoot what religion you adhere to as long as it does not point to the Savior. Here's the rub – Satan does not shy away from religions of the world – he uses them to deceive men and lead them to destruction. From ancient false deities and idols to modern religions, Satan is still using religion as a major tool for the demise of men.

Because God called men to proclaim his gospel to every creature the idea of seeking dialogue with other religions means the events in the National Cathedral are particularly egregious. It is a day of national shame and a victory for the prince of darkness.

Satan has arranged many winding and treacherous pathways for man to get lost on – religion is one of them. Man needs a Savoir and nothing more.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (Jn 14: 6)
