Accusing God of bigotry, hate speech, and child abuse
By A.J. Castellitto

"Original Sin is one of the most essential doctrines of Christianity...the premise that every human being is born sinful...How does this not qualify as psychological and emotional abuse?" – Austin Cline, About.com

Progressives continue to ostracize those Christians who use their public platform to make a clear, orthodox case for Original Sin. The straight talk applied by the spiritually astute Christian is repeatedly met with accusations of hate and bigotry. I'm picturing a time in the near future when faithful preachers will be forced to step down as their congregations are driven underground.

As secular controls increase and open hostility toward Christianity advances, our freedom to faithfully teach and practice our beliefs will continue to fall prey to greater obstructions and outright interference by a liberal political machine intent on dismantling our Judeo-Christian foundation. We are seeing plenty of evidence of this in our current day. Anyone who dares to declare (no matter how compassionate the approach) a belief that runs counter to the liberal social agenda, better be prepared to face the wrath of the social progressives. Open discussions and considerations relating to existential matters have essentially been deemed 'off limits,' a natural consequence of today's Christian bias.

Actor and Apologist, Kirk Cameron, actually had the nerve to take his convictions to the liberal media. Lets consider what he had to say,

"I believe marriage was defined by God... One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don't think anyone else should either. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."

These words set off a firestorm of controversy throughout the various news publications and social media outlets. Cameron was verbally annihilated, as the shock and hysteria displayed by a vocal, politically correct, majority took a severely ugly turn. Cameron was written off as a bigot, a zealot, a kook, a buffoon...

Personally, I don't go to Cameron for my information or my theology, but I respect him for the stand he took. The fact that so many were aghast by his sentiments, shows how far gone our modern culture has become.

Lets compare Mr. Cameron's words to that of Jesus,

"But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh." – Mark 10

When we consider the words of the Dear Lord and Savior, we may harken back to a time in our culture when the sentiments expressed by Cameron would not be considered extraodinary.

When asked if he thought homosexuality was a sin, Cameron gave a bold response,

"I think that it's...unnatural. It's detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

Now on the surface this may sound harsh, especially by today's secular standards, but let's hear what the Bible has to say,

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly" -Romans 1

God is not a God of confusion. We know in on our hearts what is natural, our designed purpose, the natural order of things. We all possess urges and desires that run counter to God's intended purpose for mankind, which is why we must preach man's fallen nature in the first place.

But the progressives will have none of it!

They declare that there is no God, no natural order, no ultimate purpose. From their perspective, we are merely a product of our chemical makeup, while truth is arbitrary and wholly dependent on one's personal morality. As a result, laws and norms are adjusted and reconstructed based on the whims and wants of the individual. A fulfillment of the natural impulses and propensities of the person has become the primary goal of secular humanism. While an espousing of God's moral standard, and our sinful rebellion, has been deemed hate speech by a secular majority blinded by their own wisdom.

Even military chaplains are on notice. Once (DADT) was lifted, the potential for charges of 'hate speech' levied against a chaplain (for preaching against homosexuality) became a legitimate concern.

As our nation continues down this progressive course, we will proceed to witness the demise of our first amendment rights. The day that Christianity will be forced to comply with secular standards or face open persecution is rapidly approaching. A day in which the churches will be shut down, a consequence of faithful orthodox preaching.

A day may even come when our children will be removed from their Christian home, a form of state 'protection' against parents who share the Biblical teachings of original sin. Don't think it can't happen. With how rapidly the anti-faith movement is progressing (i.e. contraception mandates, forced acceptance of non-traditional marriage, a removing of all remnants of our Judeo-Christian heritage from the public square) a complete rejection of religious expression is a certain inevitability.

We are already living in a day where The Ten Commandments are trampled upon. Seems to me like we're the ones with a problem.
