Untouchable: Ben Shapiro's intellectual conservatism

"Invocation of Jesus shouldn't just be tolerated uncomfortably by the American Jewish community – it should be welcomed."

When the wisdom and authority of Jesus penetrated the hearts and minds of the people of his time, the natural reaction of the ruling religious authority was to simply 'shut it down.' Well, Ben Shapiro is no Jesus, nor has he been granted such authority, but the response from liberal academia (and their minions) toward his poised rhetoric is bordering on cataclysmic. The hysteria on display, as part of a seemingly controlled preemptive strike against Shapriro's profound social-political analysis, reeks of heightened and unabashed fearful fragility. Theirs is an intellectual cowardice of epic proportions. Since their arguments lack reason and discernment, they must rely on manipulation and propaganda. http://townhall.com/columnists/davidlimbaugh/2016/08/05/censorial-depaul-bans-conservative-ben-shapiro-n2201935

"The greatest obstacle to the welfare state is not greed but private charity that makes the welfare state irrelevant; the greatest obstacle to re-education of children in the name of the collective is allegiance to a higher power. More than that, the greatest obstacle to the state as god is an actual God above the state."

We are living in a sad day, that if you can't take the ideological heat, it's become acceptable to merely burn down the kitchen. But nothing's really changed. This is merely darkened and depraved humanity on full display. Manifold lies and seductions are merely par for the course as we proceed in not heeding the voices of judgement and reason at our own peril.

"The greatest bulwark against an overreaching government, as tyrants know, is a religious population. That is because religious people form communities of interest adverse to government control of their lives; religious communities rely on their families and each other rather than an overarching government utilizing force."

If progress is contingent on ignoring and denying a multitude of natural, experiential, and observable truths, we should have no part in it. Ultimately, when emotion and desire take highest priority in a society, moral virtue is swiftly shown the door.

"The Left masks its distaste for the Bible's condemnation of homosexuality in a straw man argument that Bible believers are violent bigots. They are not. Citing the Bible doesn't make you a bigot against human beings – it makes you a bigot against sin, which is a good thing."

When God's moral law no longer applies, we shouldn't be surprised to find ourselves on the wrong side of tyranny. It's an ever growing form of social tyranny that will eventually find us all.

"Selective Biblical quotation is a favorite of leftists who interpret the Bible the same way they do the Constitution: as a Chinese menu designed to allow picking and choosing. That's because when many Democrats take the Bible as a whole, they realize how much they despise it." *

Those who deny absolutes are ripe to fall for anything. At the rate we're going, the fall feels inevitable.
