The elitist agenda and illegal immigration
By Madeline Crabb

Today we are living in a politically-correct society that has seemingly gone mad. There is a group of cultural elitists who are zealously working to change the nature of America by forcing upon us such things as diversity, multiculturalism, and tolerance. This group, the We-Know-Better-Than-You crowd, includes leaders from the media, universities, government, courts, and entertainment. They are wreaking havoc on a once sane, rational citizenry through deception, manipulation, and slick public relations techniques that cause us to replace common sense with feelings. One area where Americans have been bamboozled is illegal immigration.

When President Reagan granted amnesty to 3 million illegals, the floodgates were opened allowing at least 1 million illegal aliens into our country every year. Not only are these people coming here to supposedly get jobs, they are also coming to demand the rights and privileges of American citizens. And because of our spineless, lily-livered, mushy-minded government leaders who kowtow to illegal aliens' demands, American citizens are being robbed blind. Yes we are. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, American taxpayers are paying for the housing, food, education and health care for all these people to the tune of $26.3 billion annually — a figure that will triple if illegals are granted amnesty.

Moreover, our nation is gradually turning from a First World nation into a Third World nation because most illegal immigrants coming here are uneducated, unskilled, and extremely poor, which causes them to become part of the welfare state. And what is one of the major excuses given for allowing such an invasion? Diversity.

Concerning diversity, the Bible says that a house divided against itself cannot stand. What made America a great nation is many peoples from different lands joining together to become one nation. The immigrants who built America wanted to become fellow patriots and Americans by learning our language and assimilating into our culture, both of which were once required. But today's Know-Better folks encourage separatism and individuality instead of unity and cohesiveness. Thus we see a fragmenting in our society where different nationalities wish to live here, but keep their culture and language, becoming hyphenated Americans at best. And this is being encouraged by the elitists who are deliberately trying to undermine and change America.

Too bad we don't have leadership like Teddy Roosevelt or Calvin Coolidge. These men were stalwart in preserving America's "melting pot" makeup. President Roosevelt said, "The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities." According to Pat Buchanan in State of Emergency: the Third World Invasion and Conquest of America, Roosevelt warned against America becoming "a multilingual, multiracial, multiethnic, multicultural Tower of Babel."

In 1915, while speaking to a new group of naturalized citizens, President Woodrow Wilson said, "You cannot become thorough Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. America does not consist of groups. A man who thinks of himself as belonging to a particular national group in America has not yet become an American." Likewise, Roosevelt said that either a man is an American and nothing else, or he is not an American at all." But today's elitists, the Know-Better crowd, totally ignore sound reasoning and immigration policies of the past in favor of the Balkanization of America.

Isn't it time to insist that our leaders tell the truth, then put Americans first? Our borders, culture, language, national security, and future are at stake. To anyone willing to hear....
