Barney Fife journalists: "We've got to nip her in the bud!"
By Curtis Dahlgren
"O Sleep, why dost thou leave me?
Why thy visionary joys remove?" — William Congreve (1670-1729)
"Alas-ka? ALAS-ka?! Where's the reality in Alas-ka?" — Diddy [Diddy Reely Saydat?]
I HOPE THOSE DETECTIVES DIGGING FOR DIRT IN ALASKA FIND "REALITY": I "hope" that they finally discover America — America the Beautiful. We are about one moon away from the Harvest Moon, and the final weeks of the 2008 campaigns, and I hope those Democrat apparatchiks take a look at the moon (and themselves in the mirror).
I took a walk by the full moon down to the river at 4 AM the other day, and I noticed something new. With a clean buttermilk sky and a soft Canadian breeze propelling the clouds, I noticed that the clouds almost seemed to be passing behind the moon (they were invisible as they passed by the moon, as if yielding themselves to the brightness of "the light by night"). I'm just a Yooper from Michigan, but I can almost "imagine" what Alaska must be like, so I hope that the snobbish "journalists" who had never been there before will have an epiphany.
"America is just ourselves, with the Barbarians quite left out, and the Populace nearly." — Matthew Arnold (1822-1888)
The Eastern political class — which looks down the nose at us through rose-colored glasses (especially those ruling from their own version of the House of Lords) — honestly thinks that we are just white trash or Philistines. Arnold said:
"Philistine must have originally meant, in the mind of those who invented the nickname, a strong, dogged, unenlightened opponent of the chosen people, of the children of light."
The disciples of the chosen One, the post-modern messiah, are slinging mud these days. I'm not here to defend Sarah Palin because she's fully capable of that herself, but I'm here to defend US — the rednecks of America. The radicals have had a lot of "bad days" since the outset of their "mean-spirited" attack.
As we rednecks say, "You know it's going to be a bad day when the duct tape won't stick," and Liberals know it's a bad day when the mud won't stick to the wall.
"I lie even among the children of men that are set on fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword . . They have laid a net for my feet and dug a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves." - King David
It hasn't "dawned" on the "enlightened Ones" that the biggest kill-joy in their lives is themselves. Our Founding Fathers called it the indissoluble Law of Nature, and you can't fool Nature, nor water its laws down, nor fool all the people all the time!
The arrogant post-modern radicals say that Christ was a community organizer, that His followers were all "poor" people, and that Pontius Pilate was a "governor." [NO, NO, and SO?]
Pilate invented the phrase "What is Truth?" (and "didn't stay for an answer") and that's the very epitome of radical post-modernist "liberalism." The pagan environmentalists accuse us of "theocracy" — even as they impose the ridiculous rules of their religion of "DEEP" ecology. As for "truth," Matthew Arnold said:
"Truth sits upon the lips of dying men."
AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE, AMERICA. As Shakespeare said:
Men some time are masters of their fates;
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves.
AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS, WALTER, IN THE FALL OF 2008!
