Barack Obama is not the antichrist, but he is an antichrist

"Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come." ~ 1 John 2:18

Christ is for religious liberty, babies in the womb and natural marriage. We can say without equivocation that Christ is for liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17), that he is unequivocally opposed to the dismembering of children in the womb (Ps. 139:13-16), and that he is for marriage as the union of one man and one woman (Matt. 19:5-6).

Whoever is against religious liberty, the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage has therefore set himself against Christ and is working against the purposes of Christ in the world. This makes him an "antichrist" (1 Jn 2:18), even if he is the president of the United States.

President Obama has made it clear through his abortifacient mandate in ObamaCare that he is against religious liberty.

He is also opposed to the sanctity of human life. He is zealous to protect the practice of abortion, and even supported infanticide as an Illinois state senator.

And he is an open supporter of sodomy-based marriage, which means he is opposed to the sanctity of marriage as defined by God and affirmed by Christ.

Thus while Barack Obama is not the "big A," antichrist, the antichrist with a capital A, but he is certainly a "small a" antichrist, along with every other secular fundamentalist who opposes the values of Christ in the public and private life of our nation. This is not an irrational rant but rather a simple statement of fact.

The left is fond of using the "anti" word to describe their opponents: anti-union, anti-abortion, anti-gay. They thus have no reason to complain if someone borrows back this perfectly good word from them and accurately applies it to opponents of the will of God, even if it is applied to someone for whom they have a messianic adoration. If someone strenuously objects to this characterization of the president, perhaps it is because he too is working against Christ and his purposes.

A meaningless civil rights complaint

Activists complain that minority students are twice as likely to be disciplined as white students. But that rate of discipline is only unfair if minority students are committing less than twice the number of infractions. That may be the case, but the linked article is silent about that. Yet that information is a critical component in determining whether discipline is fair and just. If minority students are committing infractions at twice the rate of white students, then simple fairness dictates that they should receive discipline at twice the rate. That's not racism, that's justice.

Genesis 1:28: the key to America's future

Jonathan Last argues that the drop in illegal immigration from Mexico we have seen in the last 7 years is due to a severe decline in Mexico's fertility rate. If we are depending upon immigrants for cheap labor, that supply may dry up no matter what we do about border security. What this means is that, as always, the Scriptures are the solution to our public policy challenges. Genesis 1:28, which instructs us to "be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth," will be the key to a growing economy comprised of both a growing number of workers and consumers in America's future. Few nations have recaptured a robust fertility rate once it drops below replacement level. Let's make the U.S. the exception to the rule.
