How to enjoy Thanksgiving amidst an evil world

Another Thanksgiving descends upon us, with all of the usual frenzied preparation and plans for the oh-so-anticipated and aromatic feast. There is nothing like a table full of roast turkey, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, stuffing, and cranberries – all of this topped off with the obligatory pumpkin pie, which is of course smothered in mounds of whipped cream!

But looking past this wonderful bounty, what things cause us to be truly thankful? What things do we actually value and build our lives around? Not an easy undertaking when faced with the ever-growing evil in this world – blatant evil that the Bible prophecies will only get worse and worse.

A quick glance at the TV tells us that a fun vacation or a new car would be the ticket. Or maybe even just a new smart phone or Internet plan, right? But those of us who have been around for more than a few years know that these short-lived thrills in no way represent God's true peace.

And that's what it's really all about, in terms of real treasure. Authentic peace of mind is the only thing that leads to genuine joy. We're not talking happiness here, as happiness only comes in spurts – and is very fleeting and shallow at best.

Rather, joy is an all-encompassing mindset, or shall we say 'heartset,' with its related feeling of contentment amidst any storm in life. It is based upon an acceptance that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again. Then, along with that acceptance, we turn everything over to God...all of our worries and anxieties and scary feelings, big and small – which makes sense because everything is small from God's perspective, right?

Yet giving it all over to God can be a struggle when faced with such a fast-paced society, where Christianity is blissfully bashed at every turn. This targeting starts out even in grade school now, no longer confined to colleges, where many professors are versed in tearing down 'all things Jesus.'

Still, we amble along in this Satan-dominated world, endeavoring to 'shine our little light' no matter the pushback almost everywhere. Yes, taking a closer look at the wickedness that abounds can be very disheartening, indeed.

How so? Well, we are actually currently experiencing a social type of civil war raging within America. This war essentially involves a group of 'progressives' who want to put God and His Holy Bible in the trash bin in favor of a 'new' type of morality and law. This new, manmade law deletes the true Law of God, His Truth, that is threaded throughout the Constitution and all of our founding documents and legal system.

God's Law is then replaced with a new 'social justice doctrine,' which essentially is based upon what 'feels good' to every single person – whatever feeling that may be. These new rules change every day, and they are dangerously succeeding in stifling our beloved free speech and freedom of religion.

And although 'We the People' used to be able to rely upon a free and honest press to report assaults to our God-given rights, most media outlets now promote a list of rights based upon Government's dictates. Government then replaces God. And there is a 'Deep State' portion of administrative employees in government who aid and abet this corrupt media – as they, too, push to rule the world...to push out duly-elected officials, including the President of the United States.

Those who study Bible Prophecy know that this all has been foretold in Scripture. They realize that this is merely spiritual warfare that is instigated by Satan and his minions, who have, via surrogates, taken over a good portion of academia, the media, government, the entertainment industry, the tech industry...almost all cultural organizations.

And yet – two very powerful words for the Christian believer – and yet God's ultimate plan will unfold very soon, a plan that will utterly destroy every piece of evil that has made its ugly presence known.

This blessed hope is exactly what we believers look toward when we express our thankfulness during this holiday season, even amidst so much iniquity in this world. We know that this word 'hope' as translated in the Bible refers to 'certainty' – not a mere wish. This will happen. And we also are aware that this unraveling of sin has already begun....

Bible Prophecy tells us that everything that needs to take place in prophecy prior to the Rapture has been completed. The Rapture is of course that blessed event when Christ returns to Earth to gather His believers suddenly in the air with Him. But although no one knows the exact time of this event, Scripture tells us to be aware of the seasons – we are to be watching for the signs of Jesus' imminent return.

We also are told in Bible Prophecy that the biggest sign of the end times unraveling would be the re-gathering of Israel into their land, which happened on May 14, 1948. Prophecy relates that the generation that sees that re-gathering will see all of Bible Prophecy unfold.

Glory Be! The clock is now ticking! And until that time, which is 'thisclose,' we thank our Lord on this blessed Thanksgiving for 'bringing us into the fold,' into His Heaven one day to live with Him throughout Eternity. And for now, we also thank God for filtering all of our days and their challenges through His Loving Fingers. Yes, all is well with our Soul!

We remain steadfast in Our Lord, obsessed with Him. We look past the evil as best we can and do as Jesus commanded. That involves following God and continuing obediently in His Word, endeavoring to gain in wisdom, as instructed.

Most importantly we focus upon winning souls for His Kingdom by spreading His Powerful Gospel, as Jesus instructed when He departed on the Mount of Olives. We also make sure to participate in fellowship with Believers even more so now, as the Bible teaches us – and also to continue to take Communion and to abide in prayer.

How thankful we are on this Blessed Thanksgiving! End times have begun to unravel on Earth, and soon Believers in Christ will hear the Glorious Trumpet of God – and will enter into everlasting fellowship with Our Lord and Savior. Not the end of this Eternal and cozy story, my friends. No, no...it is just the Beginning!
