When it comes to equal pay for women, Barack is bam, bam, thank you, mam
By Gabriel Garnica
What comes first, the dropping poll numbers or the rising realization that Barack Obama is a phony? While I am sure we can all cite numerous instances where the Marxist Messiah's mouth has proven to be makeshift myth, women will be pleased to focus on only one.
What He Says
As reported by Deroy Murdock in the September 13th New York Post, Barack Obama appears to be blowing smoke on pay equity for women. During his fancy August 28 acceptance speech in a huge stadium, Obama declared that "Now is the time to keep the promise of equal pay for an equal day's work." and added "I want my daughters to have exactly the same opportunities as your sons." Obama's Web site practically paints him as a great crusader out to enforce the Equal Pay Act as well.
While it should not shock any casual observer of the current political climate that a Democratic politician would wrap himself in promises to carry women to the promised land of true equality, one has to wonder if anyone "vetted" Obama on the small detail that his own Senate office contradicts his superficial rhetoric.
What His Office Does
According to Murdock, LegiStorm, a Capitol Hill watchdog group, shows that Obama's male legislative staffers earn an average of $ 54,397 while his female staffers average $ 45,152. A possible reason for this disparity only makes things look worse for our dear Marxist Messiah. It seems that among Obama's five best-paid advisers, only one is a woman and, among his top 20, only seven are women.
Simply put, Obama talks up a storm on equal pay for women and, consistent with his messiah moniker, presents himself as their savior when, in fact, the only thing he saves regarding women is the money he saves by paying them less than men.
What He Accuses His Opponent of
Despite not putting his money where his mouth is, Barack Obama has the audacity to accuse John McCain and Sarah Palin of not respecting women in the workplace by being opposed to equal pay for equal work. In fact, in commenting on this supposed opposition to equal pay for women by the GOP contenders, Obama added "That doesn't make much sense to me."
What doesn't make much sense to me is how Barack Obama can point fingers at the GOP on equal pay for women while his own office grossly violates that very concept.
What Reality Shows
In contrast to Obama, John McCain's female staffers average $ 55,878 while his male staffers average $ 53,936. The facts show that women compose a majority of McCain's highest-paid aides, with three of the top five and 13 of his highest-paid 20 employees.
Simply put, John McCain treats women with much more respect in the workplace, and puts his money where it matters rather than spewing rhetoric and blowing smoke denouncing a situation which he perpetuates himself, as Barack Obama does.
Conclusion
Despite the superficial, petty and often manipulative nature of modern political marketing, the time-tested wisdom of the past has always held. Our mothers, women who personified everything that made America great with all the skill, finesse and gentle toughness only females can exhibit, taught us all that we need to know regarding the relative value of words and actions.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then action is the best picture of all, for it demonstrates that one practices what one preaches. I may not know everything I need to know about choosing a leader, but I know that I want a leader with integrity, sincerity, honesty and the guts to put his or her money where his or her mouth is.
The poll numbers are dropping for the Marxist Messiah, and he is fumbling to figure out why. Maybe, just maybe, many of those people he so often claims to be saving know that messiahs do not lie.
