How The Mainstream Media Defines Objectivity

Let's see, we have every newspaper and news source in America bombarding us with myths, scandals, lies and questions about Sarah Palin's credibility, experience and mental state on a daily basis (No references since they would run for six miles).

Let's see, Barack Obama makes two huge mistakes during the debate the other day and the media buries it deeper than their objectivity. Yep, looks like the media's legendary record of unbiased, fair, objective political reporting is in full swing. Sure thing, looks like their right to tell us what "journalistic integrity" and "objectivity" are all about is still intact.

How Democrats Define Affirmative Action

Let me begin by doing something PBS anchor Gwen Ifill should at least do at the start of the VP debate; reveal a conflict of interest. Ifill should tell America that she stands to benefit financially and otherwise by a November Obama victory, but that she will try to be as objective as possible and let Americans judge if she was successful in her effort. I say "at least" because what Ifill should really do is recluse herself given her conflict of interest.

I would like to admit that I stand to gain patriotically, religiously, mentally, physically and viscerally from an Obama defeat in November, but I won't recluse myself from this article because, unlike Ifill, I do not get to frame the direction, tone and content of a debate most admit will be key in this election cycle.

Above all, I will readily admit that I am a minority who has probably benefitted somewhere along the line from affirmative action initiatives. However, I have frequently written against affirmative action as liberals define and apply it. http://www.fsmarchives.org/article.php?id=1386157

Conservatives define affirmative action as helping everyone to be exposed to new opportunities, horizons and dreams through equality of opportunity. Liberals, on the other hand, define affirmative action as helping certain groups obtain a myriad of benefits whether they deserve, are qualified or should have those benefits in the first place, through equality of results.

To put it another way; conservatives seek to provide you with the basketball and the hoop and liberals make sure you make the shot, conservatives give you the bat and liberals give you the hit, conservatives give you dating pointers and liberals guarantee you will have a date to remember. Conservatives teach you how to fish and liberals give you free fish as long as you vote for them and kiss their feet.

At first glance, the liberal way looks very attractive but, behind that quick-fix, is the sort of patronization and victimization that runs counter to everything America stands for. America became the greatest nation on earth precisely because it was the land where initiative and hard work was guaranteed to meet opportunity and fair play. Liberals, however, want to turn this country into the place where entitlement and victimization are guaranteed to meet corruption and rationalization.

I detest it when liberals pat me on the head and promise to help me put on my pants in the morning to overcome the years of oppression at the hands of prejudiced white people. I can see their cynical, dismissive and patronizing hypocrisy in every rant about equality, freedom and fair play. Liberals feed off a steady diet of victims propped up for daily defending and quixotic swipes at fabricated nobility. Empower their victims and you castrate their lies. Expose their patronizing hypocrisy and you reveal their true agenda.

In truth, it is both fitting and proper that the liberal media should seek to install America's first minority leader through the most despicable, twisted, patronizing, arrogant, blatant and perverse application of political affirmative action ever seen in these parts. This is not about a black man seeking America's highest office. Such an event was way overdue and represents a true step forward in this nation's effort to truly honor and respect equality. No, this about the liberal political and media establishment pulling out every stop, using every trick and stamping out every real or perceived obstacle to get their man, black or white, into the Oval Office. That he happens to be black is simply a dream come true in the service of their mission.

Only an imbecile would believe that liberals are about getting women and minorities into the seats of power. Just compare the Clinton and Bush cabinets to start. No, as we have seen by the despicable attacks on Sarah Palin and Michael Steele, they are about paving the way, one way or the other, for minorities who agree with them to seats of power. If you are a woman or minority who dares not dance to their tune, they will make the most sexist fool or KKK member look like Mister Rogers.

Walking Contradictions

Liberals keep on telling us how they demand equal treatment for minorities, yet the only treatment they give those same minorities is hypocritical patronization posing as deep concern. They speak of fighting corruption and shady politics, yet that is precisely what they dish out whenever and wherever such is necessary to suit their agenda and purposes. They speak of fighting to women and the voiceless, yet they line their pockets with abortion support and money while ignoring the facts on what abortion does to women and unborn children. They speak of the truth and unity, yet they have made a mission of stamping out the truth and fostering disunity for political gain. Finally, they speak of selfless service, yet they spend most of their time practicing selfish manipulation.

The only difference between the Democratic Party and the American mainstream media is that the media carry microphones. Both contradict just about everything they each pretend to champion.

Conclusion

I look forward to the day when a truly qualified minority, man or woman, will take the seat of power in this nation. I am not impressed, however, when the liberal and media establishment anoints a minority a political messiah while ignoring every wart possible. I am not impressed when those same people blatantly favor said minority and mock, defame and mistreat the other side. If Barack Obama is so great, why does he need the big, bad media fixing everything so he can win?

Stop talking about your change and your vision and begin by winning fair and square, without special treatment and whining when the wind changes. Stop telling me about defending the voiceless while ignoring the unborn. Stop telling me about truth while crushing it when convenient.

Imagine a football game where the referees have wagered heavily on one of the teams, where the rules are selectively applied and enforced to only favor one of the teams and where everything is stacked against the other, unfortunate team.

Democrats act like they can win any election with their hands tied behind their backs but, in truth, they usually only prove that they can only win elections when their opponents have both hands tied behind their backs, are tied to a chair, blindfolded and have a tape covering their mouths. When they do win, we are supposed to fawn and cry and bow in adulation at their great accomplishment.

I do not know about you, but I am not impressed by rigged fights.
