Notice to anti-Alitoists: Your lies and deceits will be exposed!

December 13, 2005. The day the determined Judicial Confirmation Network (www.judicialnetwork.com) released a new Internet ad titled "Real America" and pointing out that far left extremists attacking Judge Alito for his sensible opinion in Doe v. Groody are really siding with drug dealers and taking a policy position that endangers children who are used to hide drugs.
The following strategy memo is posted at the Judicial Confirmation Network:
"Today JCN is releasing a new Internet ad in response to the Left's deliberate distortion of Judge Alito's record in the Doe v. Groody case, which involved the search of a drug suspect's house and everyone inside it, including a 10 year-old child.
"The ad directly confronts Judge Alito's opponents who apparently share a policy preference with drug dealers who want to use children to hide drugs and weapons.
"Liberal extremists opposing Judge Alito have chosen to characterize the case as being about searching children. In reality, in the Groody case, the drug convict was actually suing the local law enforcement authorities in a civil suit for searching his wife and child when police raided his house and found illegal drugs. (This case turned on the technical question of whether a signed affidavit attached to the warrant should be incorporated into the scope of the warrant.)
"In their ad campaign and their 'message point' often repeated in the media, the anti-Judge Alito zealots have chosen to make the focal point of their attack campaign the allegation that Judge Alito 'approved' or 'condoned' the 'strip-search of a 10-year old girl.'
"Let's have that debate. The liberal leftists who are attacking Judge Alito must defend their preferred policy of not searching children who are used by drug dealers to stash drugs. Our ad is intended to hammer home the implications of that position. If lawful searching of children is off limits to police, then the result will inevitably be an increase usage of children as 'mules' or 'stashes' for drug dealers.
"This ad was also designed to be adapted for use in states where a specific Senator is in need of education on the issue. If Senators opposing Judge Alito's nomination want to jump on the Groody bandwagon, they can explain to their constituents why they are siding with drug dealers against children.
"Please forward it to as many friends as possible."
The script of the ad follows.
"Left wing extremists opposing Judge Alito's nomination to the Supreme Court may have found new allies...drug dealers who hide drugs on children.
"These extremist groups have even run TV ads attacking Judge Alito. Ads siding with a convicted drug offender who sued police for searching his child during a raid at the suspected drug dealer's house.
"These liberal extremists oppose the search.
"They oppose Judge Alito.
"And they oppose his tough on crime positions.
"In THEIR America, drug dealers could freely use children to hide drugs.
"In THEIR America, honest police officers could be sued for doing their job.
"That is not the real America.
"Contact your Senators.
"Ask them to support Judge Alito.
"Ask them... Whose side are they on?"
FAIR QUESTIONS!
