Solving the problem posed by President Obama's high personal approval rating

As Abraham Lincoln explained: "You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time."

Polls show that "generic Republican" would easily beat President Obama in the 2012 presidential election, but Republicans have to run a particular person and therefore they need to tell America the real truth about President Obama instead of do what Senator John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, did at the Al Smith dinner in 2008 — say that Obama is a fine young man.

President Obama's personal approval rating is his ace in the hole and a reason that, policy notwithstanding, President Obama could beat, say, the twice-divorced former Speaker Newt Gingrich, who left the House of Representatives after being censured.

As Americans learned what presidential candidate Barack Obama had meant by "change," President Obama's job approval rating predictably plummeted.

America remains a center-right country and Obama's "fundamental change" is not what most American want.

But President Obama's personal approval rating remains high.

Why?

NOT because he's really a great guy who doesn't lie to the voters!

Because his blatant lie during the last 2008 presidential debate about the nature of his relationship with ACORN was not generally appreciated.

Because the liberal media establishment has supported instead of scrutinized him. The liberal media successfully concealed the truth about Obama's personal history, including his long relationship with the ACORN "family," and the "Pimp and Pro" ACORN sting allowed Obama to distance himself from ACORN itself (but not the ACORN agenda) in the public perception.

Because he is, as ABC's Barbara Walters recently reminded him, bi-racial and that's been a plus for him. President Obama's style is much more appealing than the prior two black presidential hopefuls, Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton; many whites are loathe to be labeled racist; and, even as President Obama's support among whites and Hispanics has dropped significantly, more than 90% of blacks remain supportive of him.

Because Fox News alone could not stop presidential hopeful Obama by reporting on his radical associations and, after Obama's inauguration, avoided questioning his integrity and instead focused on policy differences and ACORN itself (NOT Obama's ACORN connections). Sean Hannity produced the video of the man who President Obama said brought him to Jesus, married him and the First Lady and baptized their children, Rev. Jeremiah A. "God damn America" Wright, too late to help Hillary Clinton take the Democrat presidential nomination, and missed the story of The New York Times killing an Obama/ACORN expose on which ACORN whistleblower Anita MonCrief had been working with Times national correspondent Stephanie Strom. Bill O'Reilly disregarded damning facts and publicly declined to question President Obama's personal integrity. By the time Glenn Beck got a show on Fox News, Obama was President and Beck foolishly allied himself with Obama protector Marcel Reid instead of Ms. MonCrief after ACORN national spokesman Scott Levenson had told him he was afraid of black people and Beck looked for blacks to appear with him.

Fortunately, the truth remains the truth.

President Obama is like the Emperor with no clothes.

All that is needed is for the American people to hear and recognize the truth.

Then President Obama's personal approval will sink like a stone.

The American people don't like being fooled.

As Abraham Lincoln explained: "You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time."
