Pledge objection infringes on constitutional rights
By Kaye Grogan

Hopefully, by the end of the day, we'll know if one man has the power with the United States Supreme Court's help to abolish and rip God's name from the "Pledge of Allegiance." It's going to come done to "squashing" freedom of speech, if the court sides with an Atheist by ruling in his favor. This ruling is crucial to the rights of Americans and Christians to be able to speak God's name in public.

Michael Newdow needs to know he is infringing upon the rights of a country that was founded on God, long before any of us were ever born. So, what gives him the right to try and destroy one of the most sacred rights the American people are guaranteed to be entitled to under the protection of the United States Constitution? He has no right to ignore the rights of the people set forth by the framers. This country and the military have gone through ( and are still going through), the fiery pits of hell, to give all, including ingrates like Newdow, freedoms to enjoy.

So, Newdow doesn't believe in God? I have to wonder what he does believe in. Maybe he could enlighten us? Since at least 60% of the American people believe in being allowed to recite the pledge without any interference from people like him. How can anyone justify or logically explain. . . how his objection should take precedence and override the majority? No one can by any logical reasoning. And more importantly, how can the U.S. Supreme Court face the American people, if they dare to take this fundamental right away from the people?

This is, and will always be a nation under god. But alas, it is certainly now far from being indivisible, because of people like Michael Newdow. Reports surfaced how Newdow fabricated a story about his daughter objecting to reciting the pledge with her classmates, when the fact of the matter is, she enjoys reciting the pledge, and it is Newdow who objected to the recitation. If the reports were true and accurate during the onset of this very controversial issue. . . maybe, his daughter needs to testify before the U.S. Supreme Court, leaving little doubt of the true motive behind Newdow's "godless" attitude.

Frankly, I'm getting tired of having to stand by (as I am sure most Americans are), and watch as Christians have to always be on the defensive, fighting to keep their heads above water, while their rights are trounced on almost daily, by groups who have nothing better or constructive to do, except to try and tear down what this country was originally built on. . . God. If Mr. Newdow objects to his daughter being exposed to what he calls indoctrination of a specific religion at school (which is a bunch of bull), just because his daughter recites the pledge. . . . he should consider removing her from public schools.

What's next on the godless agenda. . . our coins? What should replace "In God we trust?" The Euro? We've been sold out in almost every other aspect, what's one more sellout? One thing is for sure. . . if the government and our judicial system keep ignoring the majority of the people in this country, and count the majority as one person. . . sooner or later, the backlash is going to be felt throughout all 50 states and well beyond.
