The worst presidential candidates . . . candidate one
By Kaye Grogan
I can tell you I am not the least bit impressed with some of the names on the presidential roster for the Democratic nomination for 2008. In fact, the first thing that comes to mind is EGADS! ...the next is how unqualified all of the potential candidates are.
When I say "unqualified" I mean they can't go beyond their capacity to be one-sided, and they are powerless to go outside their inner political circles or function beyond political interest groups, who they are beholden to for campaign contributions. So, therefore they are limited in the people they can represent effectively.
Although Senator Hillary Clinton has not officially announced that she is a presidential candidate — she is the frontrunner to be the Democratic nominee if she decides to run. But the animosity she showers on conservatives (you know the people she refers to as right-wing fanatics) is going to be one of the biggest stumbling blocks in her way to the White House. And Ms. Clinton has no one to blame but herself, for the wall of hostility that she built from the ground up, when she tried to concoct the theory that the religious right was somehow responsible for conspiring against hubby Bill Clinton accusing him of sexual improprieties in the Oval Office. Later on, when former President Bill Clinton admitted to the improprieties — after finding out there was evidence to prove the sexual misconduct, Ms. Clinton has never issued a formal apology for her "unfair" attack against the conservatives after the real truth surfaced. The former First Lady is also lacking in the ability to exert diplomacy. In the past few weeks she has accused President Bush of several serious charges without proof to back up her rash and reckless statements.
As Senator Clinton temporarily paints over her leopard spots to present herself as a mainstream Democrat, she will have to deal with her voting record, especially when it comes to women issues. While she is attempting to woo the red states by pretending to be a moderate, her past is just waiting to rise up and bite her where it hurts the most.
Hillary Clinton supports abortion and says it should remain legal, safe, and rare. She voted "no" on banning the "Partial Birth Abortion" procedure, which is one of the most horrendous acts of pure murder a baby can be forced to endure. She also supports the controversial embryonic stem cell research. She voted "no" on a criminal penalty for the killing of a fetus during the slaying of the baby's mother. What else would you expect from a liberal who doesn't want to admit — there is a real live baby in the womb?
The Christian Coalition rated Senator Clinton a big fat ZERO for her voting record on family issues and labeled her as an anti-family politician. But she scored an impressive 100 percent with the NARAL Pro-Choice folks. Ms. Clinton says that she has never met a pro-choice person who is pro-abortion. A typical example of a politician talking out of both sides of their mouth. The only difference in pro-choice and pro-abortion: they are spelled differently.
Since Senator Clinton is so popular with the "Hollywood" crowd — maybe they will consider her as President of the "Screen Actors Guild" the next time around.
Like Senator John Kerry, Hillary Clinton has dreamed of being president for years. But like Kerry, Clinton has so much excess baggage — it would take a fleet of airplanes to carry the baggage.
While Hillary Clinton is throwing mud against the wall hoping most of it will stick, discrediting President Bush and his administration, I bet there are dump trucks of mud lined up, just waiting for the conservatives to return the favor.
The only hope Hillary Clinton has of becoming the first woman president: is for her to figure out how President Bush was "selected" instead of "elected."
And that's just my opinion!
