Where art thou . . . liberal news media?
By Kaye Grogan

For those who think the Jack Abramoff money laundering scandal involves only the Republicans — think again! Boy, those old kettles the Democrats have been calling black for the Republicans, is suddenly sending a lot of steam their way. A report where around 90 percent of the Democrats may have accepted large donations from Abramoff is beginning to surface. Hot-diggity dog! ...this is getting more interesting every day!

If the report compiled by the Republican National Committee is accurate, Democrat Senator John Kerry leads the way with around $98,550 in Abramoff linked contributions, followed by Senator Dick Durbin (D) of Illinois with a $79,300 contribution. Next in line, is Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) with a hefty $78,991 contribution. And not to be outdone Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) received $68,941 and Senator Hillary Clinton got in the groove with a $12,000 donation. The total Democratic Senators reported to have received money from Jack Abramoff round out to about 40. Now that's impressive! No wonder a lot of squirming around in seats and heavy breathing is going on!

Oh where art thou liberal news media? I thought your goal is to be first in reporting, even if some of your reporting is sometimes inaccurate.

But I am going to try and be fair. According to several reports, the Democrats were funneled "sizable" donations through Abramoff clients, not through him personally. Oh I see, this makes it okay, and a separate issue involving the Republicans? You naughty Republicans! When are you going to learn it's better if a Democrat is caught with their hand in the cookie jar first?

Since fair and balanced Fox News seems to be AWOL avoiding this hot issue like the plague — it is difficult to know the real scoop. So I guess for now, everybody is waiting with baited-breath for Jack Abramoff to set the record straight.

Hopefully, Abramoff will fine tune his vocal chords so he will be loud and clear when the tell-all saga begins.

Who needs to buy books or watch movies, when the political world is producing scandals faster than a rabbit colony can multiply?

Democrats continue to stay in positions while Republicans bite the bullet, and turn on their own. If not for a strong alliance, and determination between the united Democrats, former President Bill Clinton would have been ousted from office and forced to leave the White House in disgrace. The Democrats who mess up become heroes — while the Republicans fold like a poker player with a bad hand at the first sign of trouble.

It's going to be an uphill battle for the Republicans to regroup and earn back the confidence of the voters. Conservatives (unlike the liberals who support their party through thick and thin) will abandon politicians in a heartbeat, if they believe they are engaged in shady activities.

Senator Tom DeLay has joined the ever growing list of Republicans forced to resign from high positions due to Washington scandals. I guess the only consolation DeLay has left: he was probably having fun while it lasted.

Hopefully, when all is said and done, something positive is going to come out of Washington. I know I was thinking the same thing, but the likelihood we are going to see both the House and Senate cleaned up from corruption is unrealistic, and unfortunately — about as remote as seeing a snowman in July.

And that's just my opinion!
