Get out your shark gear . . . Mr. Attorney General
By Kaye Grogan

Here we go again with the same old double standards! The Clinton Administration rapidly fired all 93 U.S. Attorneys when the former president first took office (end of the story), and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is getting tar and feathered for firing just eight?

"But that was different" some of you emphatically postulate. Well of course you're right on target, at least in your eyes, because you don't have a bipartisan bone protruding in your whole body! You couldn't agree on anything with conservatives or Republicans, if your life depended on it.

Frankly, many Americans are getting fed up with the bellyaching by spoiled Democrats, and it's getting old. For gosh sakes! ...take a dose of Pepto-Bismol and just get over it! And please find another word to fixate on besides "resign" — unless you're doing all of us a favor by practicing what you preach, by resigning.

Personally, I think both Democrats and Republicans alike — should resign — with the exception of Representatives Virgil H. Goode, Tom Trancredo, and a few other loyal leaders who really have the well-being of Americans at the forefront.

What is really behind the attack on Alberto Gonzales? Could the real reason involve his recent initiative to protect the rights of people of faith? Boy . . . I can see the hair standing up on the heads of the ACLU members after learning about Mr. Gonzales' meeting on February 20 with Southern Baptists leaders at the Southern Baptist Convention to discuss the "unrelenting" attack on freedom of religion, and what should be done, to preserve this inalienable right plainly covered by the First Amendment. It's a bunch of malarkey that the framers wanted to keep church and state in separate corners. They wanted to unite the two, so the country would stay stable and strong. They instinctively knew that every great nation needs a Supreme Being, so it can flourish, and grow in prosperity, as morality becomes deep-rooted.

Of course the atheists and agnostics already know this, otherwise the attack wouldn't be so fierce. But if they are to be successful in their mission to progress to a totally secular society, first they have to get rid of the obstacles standing in their way, and religion is their main enemy. Next, they view laws that hold them accountable for their actions as ridiculous restraints, and to them a real hindrance, along with other bothersome restrictions.

When the Department of Justice released their plan to strengthen and protect the rights for Americans to practice religion freely, the anti-God groups went bonkers.

There definitely needs to be an understanding that any type of infringement on religious practices will not be tolerated period.

For those of you who are genuinely concerned with the ever growing attack on religion — the justice department has launched a website: firstfreedom.gov. The site will keep you informed and updated on the laws they enforce. And people of faith can also file a complaint on the site if they feel their religious rights are being violated.

Finally, we have someone who is not only afraid to champion religion, but is willing to speak out boldly against religious suppressions, and provide a safety net for the discrimination against people just exercising their rights.

If you would like to read the transcript from Attorney General Gonzales' speech at the SBC Convention, you can visit www.usdoj.gov .

Right now is the perfect opportunity to rise up and demand equal opportunity to practice your religion freely, without interference from "ungodly" antagonists.

And my advice to Mr. Gonzales is to gird himself up for a real battle, and refuse to buckle under to appease the Democratic bullies who are in their usual self-centered mode demanding yet another resignation.

And oh yes . . . for heaven's sake! ... don't forget your protective shark gear — Mr. Attorney General.

And that's just my opinion!
