Freddy Krueger on steroids type of amnesty bill . . . suffers defeat
By Kaye Grogan

Now that the Freddy Krueger on steroids type of amnesty immigration bill has suffered defeat (at least for now) — the president needs to concentrate on securing the borders, reviving Social Security reform, along with other measures that could help revitalize his lame-duck legacy.

And Fox news political analysis Dick Morris really does need to get his buried head out of the political strategist clouds, and reevaluate Hillary Clinton's chances of becoming president — especially after she swung her support in favor of the disastrous immigration bill.

During Morris' lunch hour he needs to surf on over to the C-Span site and click on the Washington Journal's http://www.c-span.org/watch/ prerecorded daily segments and take note of how many Democrats have decided to become Independents and leave the party over the illegal immigration issue. The taped call-in sessions will prove once and for all — the American people are fed up to the nines with both parties.

This type of "more of the same" leadership has run its course period. And the voters need to pay close attention that Senator Barack Obama also voted yea favoring the monstrous destructive bill.

In spite of the efforts by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and other liberal entities' conjecturing pro-amnesty articles, and conjuring up fake polls to try and convince people that at least 52 percent were in favor of the amnesty bill, they found themselves running out of steam Thursday.

When will people who love to distort the truth, and moved figures around on paper realize they are only hurting themselves, when the real facts surface?

Out of 15-25 callers on C-Span when the topic concerned the legalization of millions of border thieves, the callers overwhelmingly opposed any type of legal status or amnesty, threatening vehemently to do everything in their power, to replace those voting yea in the next election.

And anyone who believes the Democrats will be the benefactor for supporting the legislature that would endanger Americans and their livelihood — must be living on another planet.

President Bush also needs to dedicate a lot of time trying to repair the bridge he has caused in the Republican Party. And although it appears as if he has single-handily destroyed the party — don't give him sole credit for the effort — considering some of the people he has been befriending lately.

I want to publicly commend all of the Senators who finally awakened and listened to their constituents — especially the 15 Democrats who voted nay.

And now that the Bush-Kennedy-McCain amnesty is dead and the open borders' crowd is in total disarray, we must press ahead offering our support to the Secure Borders FIRST Act of 2007, sponsored by Congressmen Peter King and Lamar Smith, because the current status quo is unacceptable.

Here are the specifics of the Secure Borders FIRST Act of 2007:

  • Requiring mandatory detention for all illegal immigrants apprehended along the border;

  • Expedited removal for any illegal aliens apprehended within 100 miles of the border;

  • Deploying at least 18,000 more border patrol agents by Dec. 31, 2008;

  • Funding and reaffirming the authority of state and local police to apprehend and detain illegal aliens;

  • Mandating the use of electronic employment eligibility verification system (formerly voluntary);

  • Eliminating loopholes in current law that allows illegal immigrants to receive Social Security benefits from their illegal work, if they are later legalized;

  • Banning the use of Matricula Consular cards, identification cards issued to illegal aliens by Mexican consulates to enable them to open bank accounts, buy homes and obtain other forms of identification; • Making English the official language of the United States;

  • Mandating the full implementation of US-VISIT, the visa entry-exit system intended to track visa who overstay their allocated time — a critical system to protect us from terrorism; and

  • Punishing employers who hire illegal aliens.

There also needs to be a provision in the act that would stop issuing immediate citizenship to anchor-babies born to illegal immigrants in America. If the parents are not legalized American citizens, the baby should have the same type of illegal status.

It is obvious the Mexican president is not going to control his people from entering America illegally — so it's up to our leaders to stop the madness.

We have heard enough lies about how our immigration laws can't be enforced. It's obvious the ones who keep repeating this nonsense don't want the borders secured and that's the bottom line! What we desperately need now . . . are true American leaders who are willing to enforce the immigration laws already on the books.

And that's just my opinion!
