Plumber, psychiatrist, or appropriate footwear
By Jan Ireland
Were the subject matter not so serious, I would freely admit that I've enjoyed some mighty chuckles recently, occasioned by the veritably cascading leaks coming from Democrat bastions. My first thought was that the Dems needed a plumber. I stepped that up to a psychiatrist. Now I think they just need some appropriate footwear. Maybe…a boot.
There is a great divide from the public pronouncements, and the actual truth of the national Democrat agenda. And it is important to use "national" here, because of decent and good people who cling to the word Democrat as their political affiliation. There is a pamphlet titled "My Great-Granddaddy was a Proud Democrat," written to explain how the Democrat party today is a far cry from what it used to be. Because "Democrats" like the Clintons, Daschle, Leahy, Pelosi, Rockefeller, Schumer, Rangel, Jesse Jackson, Teddy — they don't even approach what Democrat used to mean. Zell Miller, Democrat of Georgia, personifies the integrity Democrat used to embody. And he's so loyal, he won't even consider changing parties after all he's realized about its leaders. Read his book, A National Party No More, for an honest appraisal.
The old Democrats, those in power and in charge of the national agenda, have walked a dual line for decades. To keep their power, they developed two tongues. One to speak in public, with platitudes and promises; one to slither in private, with racial slurs, implacable hatred, and evil and debase intentions.
It took 9-11 to wake up America. Most Americans curse that event. Some "Democrats" curse it for waking up the sleeping giant again. Now, they have to explain what they're doing. Why they vote against our military. Why they support leftist extremists. Why they filibuster anyone with conservative or religious convictions. Why they defend partial birth abortion. Why they support gay marriage. Why they stack the courts with liberal judges. Why they lie and cheat and plot, and seemingly will do anything it takes to get back into power.
In reaction to the leaks, spokesmen for the Democrat party rail against "theft" of private documents; possible hacking of computers in their offices; and rage that those private documents were made public. But they say nothing about the lies, tricks, and destructive plans revealed in them. They don't address court rigging, interference, or collusion about nominees. They say nothing about racial slurs against conservative minorities.
It is unlikely that Republicans stole anything. They have only just developed enough backbone to force the "filibustering" Democrats to actually filibuster. It is much more likely that some real Democrats — the good and decent ones who know what that word actually means — got that information out. Staffers, office workers — little people. Who work for low wages, just to help America. Who went to Washington as the good Mr. Smith in the movie did. With hopes of helping America. But then after time, as Zell Miller has, they saw the "Democrat leaders" for what they actually are.
Through their own shenanigans, the Democrats have been outed. Hoist by their own petard. The only thing needed now is some good footwear. I say the Texas boot of George W. Bush is just the ticket.
