Gays are not gays!
By Cynthia A. Janak
Okay people I have had it with all this gay bashing. These people are not gay they are homosexuals, plain and simple. Let me give everyone a lesson in the definition of these two terms. I am going to use a dictionary that was published in the 1942. I don't care what the terms mean today. I am looking at the historical value behind the terms.
This is taken from the "Webster's 20th Century Dictionary of the English Language":
Gay - ga y, a. [ME. gay; Ofr. gai, O.H.G. gahi, quick, sudden, rash, lively.]
1. - Merry, airy, jovial, sportive, frolicsome. It denotes more live and animation that cheerful.
Belinda smiled and all the world was gay. - Alexander Pope.
2. - Fine, showy; as, a gay dress.
3. - Inflamed or merry with liquor, intoxicated, dissipated. [Colloq.]
Syn. - Merry, lively, blithe, sprightly, sportive, hilarious.
Ho "mo -sex'u -ä l - a. [Homo-, and L. sexualis, from sexus, sex] Of or pertaining to homosexuals or homosexuality, characterized by sexual inclination toward the same sex.
Ho "mo -sex'u -ä l - n. In psychology and psychiatry, one whose emotions, feelings and desires are concerned with the individual's own sex rather than with the opposite sex.
Ho "mo -sex'u -ä l' î -ty - n. In psychology and psychiatry, sexual feeling for or interest in an individual of one's own sex: sexual perversion; also, as a step in psychosexual development, the normal interest in and concern for a member of one's own sex seen in normal friendship, if carried beyond this stage, it becomes pathological and perverted, depending on its substitution for heterosexual love and its manner of sexual expression.
In this dictionary there were no other definitions for gay. I printed exactly what was in the Webster's 1942 edition. If you do not like the definitions then too bad. Deal with it. I write only with truth and fact, historical and present. I will not shade or twist what the truth is.
Now as to why I am writing about this topic when there is so much other more important news happening in the world today.
This morning when I turned on my computer I was greeted with a story about Kraft Foods. It was sent to my email by the "American Family Association." I receive various emails from different organizations so that I can keep up with the topics that I feel are important to the American public. This was the last straw. I hate hearing about this stuff before I get to drink my first cup of caffeine.
I am sick and tired of all of the homosexuals who because they are ashamed of who they truly are, have to term themselves as gay. They are not gay (please reference the definition above.) They use the term gay to make what they are more acceptable to them and no one else. If they were truly proud of who they are then they would use the proper English language term homosexual. But they do not and that just shows me that they are ashamed of their sexual orientation.
They have smeared the words gay and rainbow. I will not use the word gay to reflect how I feel. (Reference the term above.) I am a happy and jovial person and I should not be ashamed of using the word gay to reflect my feelings as is proper within the framework of the English language. There are many people that I know who find it offensive that they call themselves gay. I have homosexual friends and they are proud of it. I respect them for who they are as people. And (here is the big and) they do not shove the fact that they are homosexuals in my face every single day.
Would they like us heterosexuals to shove our sexuality in their faces by having rallies and other events just like they do. I would think not. They would have the ACLU on our backs telling us that we were discriminating against them. They would term it hate speech or something like that. On the other hand maybe we should. They would see that the orientation of the majority of Americans is heterosexual.
Now I want to reference a sentence taken from the chicagoist, dated 05/12/2005. "Have you noticed that those right-wing groups like to use the word "homosexual" more than most?" Let me tell you why we do that, bucko. We use the term homosexual because it is the proper term to use. We are using correct English. Because you do not like that does not mean that you can call them right-wing. We are just average American citizens that believe in traditional moral and family values. There are many in America that are left-wing and have traditional moral and family values. This is not just a right-wing group thing.
Kevin Boyer, co-vice chairman of the board and the chairman of the marketing committee for the Gay Games had this to say. "Obviously, we are disappointed that Kraft has been targeted by extremists..." EXTREMISTS he says. I am sorry but I do not think that having family and moral values extreme. I think AIDS is extreme, PEDOPHILIA is extreme but having family values...not. 'Gays' are the extremists. They are the ones that are constantly screaming their homosexuality to the masses.
Here is another quote by Boyer. "It's disappointing that a group would target something like an event that celebrates sports and healthy lifestyles." I have a question. What is so healthy about AIDS and the other health issues that face the homosexual community? I do not find this to be a healthy lifestyle at all.
Did you know that homosexuals are not banned from any athletic event because of sexuality? They are not so why do they feel the need to have such an event? They can participate in any triathlon or sporting event without fear of reprisal. When my daughter was younger she used to participate in these events. Everyone looked the same to me.
Also, do you know that homosexuals are not discriminated against in regards to marriage? Don't be so shocked. It is true. Any homosexual man can marry any homosexual or heterosexual woman and any homosexual woman can marry any homosexual or heterosexual man. It is true. So they are not discriminated against in regards to marriage.
But, they would have you to believe that they are being discriminated against and denied their rights to marriage. That is just not true and they know it. They are just a bunch of malcontents that want their own way or they will throw a tantrum. Waaaahhh!!!
In an article that I wrote a while back I referenced a study that was done about the homosexual behaviors. I would like to reference that study here.
"There are studies that disclose homosexual men are more likely to abuse children then heterosexual men. This is because, per capita, more homosexual males were abused in some way when they were young. Most often it was sexual abuse by a trusted male. If the abuse was repeated over a period of time the action becomes normal and the adult homosexual male does not even realize that it is wrong. I read this in an article by NARTH — National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality."
A 2001 study in the Archives of Sexual Behavior utilizes a non-clinical sample of 942 adults to compare rates of childhood molestation between heterosexuals and non-heterosexuals.
The authors found that 46% of homosexuals and 22% of lesbian women reported homosexual molestation in childhood. This compared to childhood homosexual molestation rates of only 7% of heterosexual men and 1% of heterosexual women.
The authors review substantial previous research which also found a link between homosexuality and a history of childhood sexual abuse. Their own research is apparently the first survey, the authors say, "that has reported substantial homosexual molestation of girls." The female victims had a mean age of 13 at the time of the same-sex abuse, while the comparable group of abused boys had a mean age of 11.
Joyanna Silberg, Ph.D., co-author of the Rind study critique, said Rind's conclusion that most men did not suffer negative effects from childhood sexual abuse is in fact not supported by Rind's own data. Silberg, a child psychologist from Baltimore, Md., said Rind "failed to note that the men's subjective perceptions did not correlate with their results on objective measure." For example, compared to their non-abused peers, more than twice as many abused men said they had used illegal drugs, three times as many had sought therapy for emotional problems and five times as many said they had attempted suicide.
Also, in regards to the gays, and I use that term begrudgingly, they are not discriminated in the workplace either. As a person with human resource experience, a homosexual person can have any job that they are qualified for. Companies I know do not care what your preference is. They just do not want it exhibited in the work place. That is why we have employment laws in regards to employee rights. In most company handbooks you will find a chapter in regards to the company's policy on harassment. Most companies sponsor training seminars for their supervisors, managers and employees in the prevention of workplace harassment. Just do the job you are hired to do just like the heterosexuals is all they want.
Most companies have a policy as to what they consider to be the proper attire for their establishment. This is usually a chapter in the employee handbook. These are standards set in place as to what the employer believes the image they want their employees to portray to their customers. Here is an example of what could be unacceptable attire. A man with a beard wearing a dress because he is a cross dresser working as a cashier. I'm sorry but Klinger from MASH may have looked cute but that is fantasy. I know I would not want to look at those hairy legs. Augh!!!!!!
To get back to the original topic of homosexuals calling themselves gay. They are not (reference definition above) and everything they do and everything they say just proves to the American public that they are nothing more than a bunch of malcontents that are not sure of their own sexuality. If they were secure with their own sexuality then they would not feel the need to be exhibitionists about it. They may have latent feelings that something is just not right and that the possibilities that they were abused in some fashion when they were children could be of major importance.
Homosexuals need to reflect into their own sexuality and past to see if there is an underlying psychological cause as to their sexual orientation. There probably is as the studies show. But, and here is another big but, they are afraid to do so because they might find out the truth. People with radical ideas like the left-wing extremist homosexuals (boy, that sounded good) want attention. I surmise that it may be because of a lack of attention as a child or the wrong kind of attention during the formative years.
