Gardasil -- doctor's story is 'no side-effects'
By Cynthia A. Janak

On March 20, 2008, I took my perfectly healthy granddaughter for a check-up...she received a Gardasil shot, which the doctor said "had no side effects"...6 days later we were eating dinner and she fell from her chair, having a horrible seizure...

the doctor didnt tell me that there was a possibility of fainting and said i was the first at that office to faint from it.

I have never fainted before or ever lost my vision like that before. However my doctor did mention before that for some reason girls seem to faint after getting shots.

Why else would my healthy daughter be having seizures two weeks after her shot. None of these Doctors have heard of this happening.

I have offered to share this blog with Children's Hospital in my area. After I explained why I was not allowing my 13 year old to get the shot, I inquired as to why the medical community does not seem to be taking these reports of side effects seriously. Well, the response was that "side effects are rare and minimal." They suggested that I review the CDC website (about the vaccine) and basically told me I was overreacting to only "negative feedback."

As soon as she laid back she started wheezing like she couldn't get any air, her face was white her lips were purple her arms were flailing around! I seriously thought she was dying. No one ever mentioned this could happen.

I even contacted doctors and was treated with a very negative response. "Oh, side effects only affect a few number of people and they aren't that severe."

I was on the floor at work bent over, I couldn't walk or talk or hardly breathe. My dad took me to the doctor and she told me and basically laughed, telling me it would have nothing to do with the shots she gave to me.

When I got my first and second shots back in Oct and Dec respectively, I was told both times that the only side effect was soreness at the injection site.

My doctor would like to go ahead with the next 2 shots. Sure, she did not have to go through what we did (physically, mentally, financially) No more shots for my daughter.

I believe doctors should warn their patients of the side effects.

It just showed me that even my family physician that I have been going to for 23 years has NO CLUE what half of these new drugs are...

Did any of you receive this list of side effects as a "warning"? I know I did not. I received a page with information on both sides. **I want to point out that this "info sheet" is dated 2006!!!**

July 6, 2008

GARDASIL a new cervical-cancer vaccine heavily marketed to young girls in ubiquitous ads on TV and in movie theaters is under investigation for possible links to paralysis, seizures, and 18 deaths.

Federal health officials have logged 8,000 "adverse events" in girls and women injected with the Merck & Co. vaccine introduced two years ago, more than 500 of them from New York.

And lawyers last month filed the first two claims on behalf of girls with ailments blamed on Gardasil under a federal program to compensate victims of vaccine-caused illness, The Post has learned.

Judicial Watch has uncovered via the FOIA the fact that there have been 8864 reports to VAERS of adverse events associated with Gardasil.

The first annual vaccination statistics for New South Wales to include Gardasil reveal a 1600 per cent surge in reported adverse side-effects among young females who were immunized last year.

These include allergic reactions, collapsing, dizziness, nausea and unexplained illnesses.

New female cases pushed the total adverse reactions to immunizations last year to the highest on record. NSW Health says it is monitoring the situation closely, but said the results did not outweigh the benefits of the vaccination program.,23599,23974632-421,00.html

HPV Vaccine Blamed for Teen's Paralysis

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

Now, Gardasil is making headlines again. This time, the drug's manufacturer is under scrutiny as the vaccine's recipients are complaining of ill side effects.

There have been more than 7,800 (this number was corrected after watching video on the New England Cable News so I corrected it.) complaints about Gardasil, New England Cable News reported Tuesday.,2933,377688,00.html

Serious Questions About HPV Vaccine

WASHINGTON, July 7, 2008

The hope is that Gardasil will prove to be a lifesaver, preventing deadly cervical cancer. But today Merck's HPV vaccine is dealing with a growing number of reports of serious side effects, CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports.

Gardasil was approved in 2006 for girls as young as age 9. The conservative-funded public interest group Judicial Watch recently obtained more than eight 8,000 reports of adverse events reports under Freedom of Information law.

To me, it seems that finally the media might and I stress might, be taking these reports more seriously. Or it could be the fact that this has finally become a topic of interest because of the announcement by Judicial Watch that there are now 8864 reports.

Why is it that a number can change something from being not news worthy to being news worthy? I know a couple of reporters out there that have felt that this was worth reporting on before this media blitz. I have talked to them personally. You do not hear anything about that, now do you. These are the reporters that should take the credit for following Gardasil and getting the personal stories out there.

The first investigative reporter I want to mention is Michele Gillen from CBS, WFOR, Florida. This reporter has done 3 segments on Gardasil.

Another reporter that has been covering Gardasil is Jessica Meyers of The Dallas Morning News.

I feel that it is because of these dedicated reporters, Judicial Watch, NVIC and all their efforts to bring the truth to the citizens of this great nation that should be given the credit. They have been reporting on Gardasil before it became vogue. I want to say to these fine people what a great job and service that they are doing. That is my opinion.

With the new numbers from Judicial Watch, I would like to update the total numbers of reports. I am not able at this point to update my breakdown of events until the NVIC is able to update their website. As soon as they are able I will give you the complete numbers.

8864 adverse events reported +2141 multiple incidents = 11005 total adverse events

Now with these numbers in mind I did some calculations of my own. Here is what I have found.

According to the United States 2000 census figures there are a total of 38,695,524 females between the ages of 1029.

Fox News reported that only 1020 percent have received one dose of the vaccine.,2933,320132,00.html Let's go with an average of 15% of the girls received one dose. That will give us 5,804,329 girls.

Given the numbers, without the 10% rule that I like to use, you have 5,804,329 receiving the shot and out of those girls you have 11,005 that have reported some kind of adverse event, therefore you have approximately 0.19% have had a reaction of some sort.

Okay now if you use the 10% rule (Taken from the NVIC that only 110% of the adverse events are reported.), you have 5,804,329 receiving the shot and 110,050 possible adverse events, which gives you the possibility of having 1.896% of the female population in the age group of 1029 adversely affected in some way.

Considering that this is almost 2.0% of the female population between 10 and 29 I think that there should be an investigation into this vaccine and with what I posted at the beginning of this article, Merck should be held personally accountable for not informing the medical community with proper documentation about the growing possible side-effects of this vaccine.

Now, I want to take you back to an earlier article I wrote titled "The great Gardasil vaccine cover-up."

I just gave you a lot of numbers to think about. I want to give you just a few more from this February 27th, 2007 article. The average age of a woman with cervical cancer is 48. The effectiveness or dangers of this vaccine will not be known for at least a decade. Let's put things into perspective. Cervical cancer results in just 3,700 deaths nationally every year compared to heart disease, which kills over 300,000 women annually. So this means that cervical cancer deaths in the United States are 1.5%. I believe that our percentage is so low because we have women go to their doctors yearly and get checked for this awful disease and catch it early.

Gardasil has been around for 2 years now so that means that in two years we have possibly 110,050 girls affected. That tells me that they are willing to sacrifice 55,025 girls a year to save 3,700. According to the present (April 2008) NVIC data we have 1,236 (10% =12,360) girls who had not recovered at the time of the report. These numbers are staggering.

Now one thing you do not know about this vaccine is that it is only projected to save 70% more women from cervical cancer as stated by the WHO on March of 2006. (Note: this document was published before the HPV vaccine was approved by the FDA.)

Nevertheless, the vaccines are expected to prevent cervical cancer in 70% of HPV-naive women.

HPV infection usually resolves spontaneously, but it may persist, and precancerous cervical lesions may follow. If untreated, these may progress to cervical cancer over a period of 2030 years. During the period of persistent HPV infection, precancerous changes may be detected in the cervix; early detection of these changes is an effective strategy for prevention of cervical cancer.

So let us look at what 70% is of 3,700. So in essence this vaccine will save 2,590 women a year at the cost of 6,180 (10% rule) girls a year. That means that there could be 123.6 cases per year per state of doctors treating young girls for various ailments that the doctors are not sure of the cause because of the timing of the onset of symptoms.

How is this fair? How is this ethical to sacrifice our children in this manner? Just imagine 6,180 girls in varying degrees going through what the young women that I featured in my last article are experiencing on a daily basis. Just imagine what their parents must feel when they are told by the doctors that they do not have any answers for them. Just imagine being a parent and watching your precious child going through such pain and suffering? Why? This just breaks my heart.

With that said, I put the blame for what is happening to our young girls at the front door of Merck. I do not blame the doctors or anyone else for what is happening. If the doctors were informed in a timely manner of the possible side-effects properly and the fact that people with certain allergies were excluded from Merck's trials I think that we would not have the epidemic that we have today, in my opinion.

I know about the allergies because I searched to find any new studies by Merck. I found several. I have called a few of those study groups in regard to the exclusion of the allergies group to find out exactly what this encompasses. I have left messages and to date I have not received a call back to my query.

Because of this exclusion group I feel the hypothesis that I presented in my last article could be valid. What is your opinion?

I also want to inform you about a vaccine awareness event on August 2nd, 2008. To find out more about this event please watch the 5 minute video.

NOTE: To all the young women and girls and to their families, friends and relatives I pray that you are given the strength to get through these trying times.
