This is why we need talk radio
Lamestream media ignores history in the making

Looking back at the past 50 years of American history, it is possible to see that — by the 1960s — news reports were already being "engineered" to fit the Leftist political agenda. The sad fact is that, right now, news reports are being engineered by selectively ignoring certain facts and events. One of the ongoing events being actively ignored is the presidential campaign of Dr. Alan Keyes.
Last Friday, it was my privilege to host Dr. Keyes as a guest on my talk-radio program. The topic was his appearance the following day at a Fair Tax rally in Nashville. On Wednesday morning, 16 Apr 2008, Dr. Keyes will once again be the guest on my program. And, that program will clearly show why this country needs talk radio.
The evening before that interview, Dr. Keyes is scheduled to hold an important news conference in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Both the date and the location are significant. The 15th of April is federal income tax day in the United States. Hazelton is a city that took a stand to curtail the flood of illegal aliens that has swept across the United States. Keyes believes in abolishing the income tax, because it was not part of the taxation system written into the Constitution by the Founders of this country. He also believes that securing our borders is crucial to national security, just as deporting illegal aliens is vital to our national economy.
As I type this column, the news conference in Hazelton will start in one hour. Dr. Keyes is widely expected to announce that he — a former UN ambassador in the Reagan administration, and a life-long Republican - will leave the Republican Party. Not only should that be news in itself, given Dr. Keyes' staunch conservative views, but it is also the first time in a hundred years that a major-party presidential candidate changed parties during a campaign. (George Wallace started his own political party, in between his 1968 and 1972 campaigns for president. But, that was not during a campaign.)
But, as I described him on my talk show last week, Alan Keyes is "the man that the media loves to ignore." (This is very parallel to what happened to my own 2006 campaign for Congress.) And, that leads to the theme of this column.
My program is privileged to be the very first talk-radio program (7am, Central Time) to interview Dr. Keyes after his Tuesday news conference. By that time, it will become apparent whether the "lamestream" news media will cover the event, or continue to ignore the Keyes campaign. If it is the latter, as I expect, then talk radio will prove to be almost the only source of information regarding Dr. Keyes' announcement — without specifically seeking that information, such as by visiting his campaign Web site.
What is the "lamestream" news media so afraid of? When reporting on presidential candidates, they refer to Sen. Barack Obama as "the" Black candidate, as though Dr. Keyes does not even exist. So much for reporting "just the facts," much less "all the news that's fit to print." A dozen years ago, people that said the news is engineered were referred to as "kooks." Now, anyone that does not realize that the news is engineered is considered the kook.
So, get your information first-hand, directly from the sources, by listening to talk radio. And, in the case of the Keyes interview, you can also get your information first by listening to my program early on Wednesday morning.
