One pro-life organization's approach
By Darla Meyers

Our committed American citizens at Vote For Life First believe strongly the only way to overturn Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton is by showing the world that pro-life supporters are people who truly live the life of "choice," and that means going door-to-door and talking to people about the importance of their pro-life vote. We have to do something the pro-aborts do not do—they can’t sell death door-to-door. Pro-life people know that we are the true "choice" of life.

We have formed our group to encourage, support, and elect pro-life politicians by using information from major pro-life organizations. Our group is 100 percent pro-life, and we educate candidates and voters on the importance of always being consistent in our mission to elect 100 percent pro-life politicians.

In the absence of a 100 percent pro-life candidate, we inform the "exceptions pro-lifer" that our support is temporary until we can find someone to replace them with a 100 percent pro-life legislator.

Since our youth and young adults are programmed to be rebellious, we are living in a society where our young adults are rebelling against the culture of death! They know they are all survivors of abortion, and they resent the decisions adults in this country have made on behalf of their unborn fellow Americans. We believe by showing the physical face of the promotion of life, people will know they are not alone in their pro-life views.

But it cannot end there—we must demand that our elected pro-life politicians keep their commitment to the culture of life. We will hold them accountable. We promote our Vote For Life First slogan and campaign by promoting "U+5." You "U" e-mail "+5" people on your address list to ask them to sign up for regular updates from the Vote For Life first web site. We work closely with the Knights of Columbus, one of the few organizations that are 100 percent pro-life and have succeeded in their promotion of life through all their KC councils throughout the world.

Vote For Life First doesn't have any money, we don’t donate money to campaigns, we don’t have a paid staff—we provide a conduit for the culture of life to get the word out about their candidates, and the beauty is, everyone can do this.

We feel strongly that if people knew who their pro-life candidates were, they would Vote For Life First—before any other social issue. And they would encourage their fellow Americans to Vote For Life First. Without the "right to life," the rights to "liberty and the pursuit of happiness" mean nothing.
