The Peeker's Principle: power to the people
By Johnny D. Symon
For those of you who habitually browse my Knight Gothic archive dungeon, the latest entitled "Zappo, Goering and other Amusements" lies ready and waiting. Here's a small taster;
"Whether president or prime minister, such a leader only reveals his true colors on his final term in office. Once the voting public put him there, he knows that four years later he won't be facing the public and again asking for their vote. That four years will then be his glory years or sad-story years."
During the course of this ed I cited the antics of Margaret Thatcher during her final term in office. She enacted a little thing called the "Community Charge" that became more widely known as the Poll Tax. Margaret Thatcher chose her final years in office as the time to take control of everyone's private lives and details. It was one of the most serious control freak policies ever introduced, and effectively destroyed the Conservative party for many years. But this year Prime Minister Tony Blair has chosen as his final term choice something called the National ID Card. He claims that the ID Card is voluntary and over five million Brits have promised not to take up the offer, and despite assurances that it is a voluntary system, Blair's government have announced that those who refuse to supply Big Brother with all their private and personal details, will find themselves unable to ever leave the country, even on business, because they will be exempted from owning a passport!
The national ID card of the Blair government serves as yet another try at the poll tax, and will certainly destroy the Labor party next election, as it destroyed the Conservatives. Both the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats are against this crazy scheme. In fact the Conservatives have promised to axe it should they form the next government, and this time around I'm sure that the Conservatives are on a winner, even if it takes a coalition with the Lib Dems. Control freak politicos never learn a lesson. Sooner or later they destroy not themselves of course, but their own movement.
The Spanish government are headed for defeat at the next election also, but unlike Blair, Zapatero was voted in by default at the behest of terrorists and terrorism, and due to this he's set about favoring those that the Spanish general public hate, the latest being Batasuna's Arnaud Otegi. As I'm writing this a demonstration is being organized by the "Foro Ermua" for 8 o'clock tonight outside of the offices of the "Fiscalía General del Estado" in protest at the office's retraction of legal action against Otegi. They, and many others, believe that the present default government are busying themselves manipulating the judiciary to appease terrorists.
Another major disaster for Spain's lunatic government comes in the form of their new "Good Citizen Training" program that they intend to inflict on all school kids very shortly. Unlike religious education in Spanish schools, where a number of parents used the Spanish Constitution's "conscientious objection" clause to keep their kids out of the classes, the present government intend to defy the Constitution by making the process compulsory! The Catholic church is up in arms over it all, as are the Conservatives.
I for one live life as a libertarian, and I don't give a damn as to how everyone else lives their's, as long as it does not infringe on my space, and that's where good citizenship training comes in, for had it not been compulsory no one would have reason to object. I don't care about what other parents teach their kids, because their offspring are their responsibility, though ultimately the Spanish government will pay the price for their lousy communist ideas.
One pro-citizenship training politico explained a few days back on a TV show, that this program was voted in by a majority of the Spanish Congress, and this was indeed true. But to people like myself it represented something else, and that is the divide between God-rejecting Democrats and God-observing Republican Theocrats. The majority vote in Congress consisted of Communists, Ecologists and Socialists, the Conservatives voted against it en masse because they represent people who intend to keep God in their lives.
But democracy must have it's way, therefore the program is compulsory and it would seem that ecologists and their helpmeets in government intend to make their ecological program a compulsory one too. Their arguments are in direct contradiction to the promises laid down in the Bible. All the Bible expects from it's followers is to ...
I've underlined the word "seasons" in the above verse, because the Danish Space Center have discovered that planet earth and it's climate is subject to energy waves, sun spots and solar winds. They say that even a planet that died seven million years ago can affect our climate today! Earth is in the balance, sure, but it's a balance of universal forces. Mankind has no control, good or bad, over our environment. In fact if those politicos who head the ecology argument Stateside, who still happen to attend church on Sunday, met up with me in court I'd wipe them off the face of the map just with the Bible.
I'm not trying to prevent ecologists from wooing the populace with their ideas, I'm just reserving my right not to be controlled by them.
The Bible, by the way, and those who observe it to the letter, are world's apart from that thing from the dark side, otherwise known as democracy. Democracy in action enslaves people and removes their individual right to choose. Democracy has recently been cited in Spain by a political proponent as something which provides for everyone and everything within what he also described as a "pluralistic Spain," he was lying of course because if it were true, the good citizenship training program would not be compulsory, and neither would it be compulsory for industry to observe emission laws.
Now things wouldn't be so bad if only Liberals performed the democracy trip. Democracy is supposed to be something Democrats do, but nowadays even G W Bush operates that system from near and far. I sometimes wonder who's side he's really on, because due to a massive Federal debt built up during his years in office, and several other little ditties such as trying to "democratize" the Middle East, I'm certain that come the next election the Liberals will take control and finalize their "remove God from America" program. I even foresee the end of gun ownership within ten years, as for what will replace it all, check out the Book of Daniel and the Apocalypse.
But I have a novel idea that would stop the excesses of democrat-minded politicos, and for the first time in history place total control of the nation and it's workings into the hands of the common man and woman. No more pork-barrel politics. Everything political would be by permission of the people, meaning that Thatcher-type control policies, Blair-type control policies, and good citizenship training control policies would never get off the ground, and here's how it works;
In a few short years computer chips shall perform a billion tasks a second. The average Joe and Josephine will have access to awesome computer power. Meanwhile I predict the end of physical currency, everything will be in cyberspace, and everyone will be audited by the minute. However, the Big Brother thing can be utilized by popular consent to serve the individual. Without physical cash we'll actually have better control over our tax load, we just have to persuade enough right-minded politicos that we require a referendum on taxation. This referendum would return the power of free choice to the tax-payer; Our tax share does not become the property of politicians to do with as they please, therefore we could prevent part of our tax burden going to Palestine for instance, by blocking that route, whereas another tax-payer might be happy to allow it through. I reckon that if we were granted the right to opt out of certain political plans through not allowing our personal tax burden to go in that direction, a system would develop very much like a minute by minute national referendum. The true state of a nation, in all it's aspects, would become plain.
If the majority of tax-payers blocked finances, via cyberspace banking, from their "tax account" for a proposed military action against another nation, for example, the action could not take place. And vice versa. Pretty soon folks would realize that everyone is in charge of policy making, and no one is their superior. I'm talking genuine Theocratic Republicanism. Maybe it should be called "The Peeker's Principle" ... my tax dollars would be withheld from anything ecological, anything immoral, or anything to do with most foreign aid programs. My tax's use would be through my consent ... a tailor-made system. Control freak politicos would find themselves out of a job, with little or no resources supplied them by the populace to fulfill their madcap ideas. Value for money, and good house-keeping would replace all the other nonsense. Pretty soon I guarantee that America would be a far better place to live in, except of course for those who rely on tax dollars to flush down the toilet ... they'd be out of a job and on the streets where they belong!

"The only purpose for which power
can be rightfully exercised over any
member of a civilized community,
against his will, is to prevent harm to
others. His own good, either physical
or moral, is not sufficient warrant."

that moveth upon the earth."
