YOUTUBE — Learn the meaning of the Constitution and the principles of American government in Hillsdale’s most popular online course, “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution.” The United States Constitution was designed to secure the natural rights proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence. This course examines the political theory of the American Founding and subsequent challenges to that theory throughout American history.... (more)

THE FEDERALIST — Ensuring the integrity of West Virginia’s elections is part of Mac Warner’s job, but the secretary of state has been just as zealous about protecting national elections from unfair meddling. Now in his second term as the Mountain State’s top election official, Warner has cleaned up West Virginia’s bloated voter rolls and severed the state’s ties with leftist-linked voter roll groups. Even political opponents have credited Warner, who is running for governor as a Republican, with being “vigilant” to make West Virginia elections “very secure.”... (more)

JOE KOVACS — A new report reveals former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney's Jan. 6 Committee suppressed evidence President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation's capital on that fateful day in 2021. According to a previously hidden transcript obtained by The Federalist, "Cheney and her committee falsely claimed they had 'no evidence' to support Trump officials' claims the White House had communicated its desire for 10,000 National Guard troops.... JERRY NEWCOMBE — It seems like everyone is talking these days about Rob Reiner’s hit-job movie against the religious right, "God & Country." It makes “Christian nationalists” into the bogeyman. Although I travel in the circles of Christian conservatives, I have yet to meet anyone who has actually seen Reiner’s movie. But I have seen a trailer for it. The thesis of the movie is that “Christian nationalists” are bad and are trying to take over the nation and turn it into something it was never intended to be.... (more)

JOE KOVACS — Former President Donald Trump romped with massive victories across America on Super Tuesday, leaving Republican challenger Nikki Haley in the political dust, as the former UN ambassador was projected to win her first state in Vermont. BOB UNRUH — U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., says the Biden family, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and the rest, are corrupt. In fact, more corrupt than anyone in American politics before. Ever. "I believe that this is the most corrupt family ever in a position of power in this country's history," she said in a recent interview with Cowboy State Daily. "We’re talking about a level of corruption that is so far beyond what we’ve seen with previous political leaders."... (more)

JOHN DANIEL DAVIDSON OF THE FEDERALIST — Hot on the heels of a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling on Monday that states have “no power” to remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot, Democrats and their lackeys in the corporate press denounced the court for supposedly meddling or interfering in the election. “Not since Bush v. Gore have we seen a court that’s had this many opportunities to interfere in the election,” said former Rep. Donna Edwards on MSNBC. NBC News’ Ken Dilanian mused that the 9-0 ruling would “be seen by many people as the court essentially interfering in some sense in the election.”... (more)

NEWSWEEK — Republicans in Texas sent a message to their party that they want to remove property taxes in the state, after a vast majority voted yes to a proposition during Tuesday's primary on whether the state "should eliminate all property taxes without increasing Texans' overall tax burden." JUST THE NEWS — The Supreme Court on Monday unanimously ruled that former President Donald Trump can remain on the 2024 presidential ballot in a decision that comes one day before the Colorado Republican primary after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that the top Republican contender is ineligible. The Supreme Court ruled that the "responsibility for enforcing" the 14th Amendment's "insurrection" clause "against federal officeholders and candidates rests with Congress and not the States."... VICTOR SHARPE — Billions of the world's people do not know the meaning of the important festival of freedom and liberty known as Passover – a festival of spring, recognizing an event that has blessed the world for well over 3,300 years. This year, the festival, which always falls on the 15th day of the Jewish month of Nissan, will begin on the evening of April 22 of the standard calendar. The biblical story behind Passover tells of the Exodus and of the salvation of the Jewish people after centuries of slavery under the Egyptian pharaohs and the subsequent creation and deliverance of an entire nation.... TAX POLICY CENTER — Last month, an Idaho lawmaker called the property tax “inherently evil” and suggested the state repeal it and replace the foregone revenue with a higher sales tax. He described the property tax in feudal terms, saying it “dates back to the dark ages or the middle ages when the lords of the manor had to pay taxes to the Kings and the Queens, otherwise they didn't get to keep their land.” This caught my attention because I’m a nerdy tax economist and we are known for loving property taxes while the general public, well, doesn’t. So my first, pedantic reaction was to tweet that, actually, the property tax dates to 6,000 B.C. And it performs very well on criteria of sound taxation like efficiency, equity, and reliability.... MADELINE CRABB — America is not only in decline but facing destruction—at the hands of the very people who are supposed to be protecting us. We began discussing these points last week and will continue in this article. While it is easy to point fingers at others for their role in causing our country's problems, all Americans share some responsibility for our demise. In the end, it is those of us who, as voters, have given consent to those in power (see the Declaration of Independence, paragraph 2) who are ultimately responsible for the intentional takedown of America.... EDDIE SCARRY OF THEFEDERALIST.COM — Voters in a few months are supposed to cast a ballot for their preferred presidential candidate.
