Luke 2:1-33 (KJV)
KING JAMES VERSION — 1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.... PETER LEMISKA — It is, as another seasonal song tells us, a most wonderful time of the year. It's a time when most people seem a little more charitable, more giving and forgiving. It's a season that brings, for most, a measure of comfort, hope, and joy. But many today are feeling a different kind of joy, and it has nothing to do with the season.... (more)

CLIFF KINCAID — The large number of Democratic Party presidential candidates has become a running joke. But the unexpected strength of 37-year-old South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a Harvard graduate who calls himself a "gay dude in Mike Pence's Indiana," is a significant achievement, even for a political party that depends on identity politics. More importantly, Buttigieg claims to be a gay Christian, despite the Biblical scriptures that condemn same-sex conduct. He was "married" to another man in an Episcopal Church.... (more)

FOX NEWS — Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, reacted Sunday to the fact that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not yet transmitted the articles of impeachment to the Senate saying, "I think this is a sign of weakness." Cruz made the statement on "Sunday Morning Futures" adding, "This is a sign she [Pelosi] understands just how weak these articles are. These articles of impeachment that they actually voted on were really an admission of failure."... (more)

THE EPOCH TIMES — Former Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz responded to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) possibly withholding articles of impeachment from the Senate and argued that she doesn't have the power she thinks she has. "Whether the House wants it to be in the Senate or not, the matter is now properly before the Senate," Dershowitz told the Republican National Lawyers Association, according to the Daily Caller. "The presiding officer of the Senate can set a trial date, convene the chief justice and begin the trial. So I don't think that Pelosi has the power that she thinks she has, or that my colleague Larry Tribe thinks she has."... (more)

FOX NEWS — Several key players in the origins of the Russia investigation might want to contact their lawyers following Attorney General William Barr's appearance this week on Fox News, political analyst Gregg Jarrett suggested Thursday night on "Hannity." Former Trump campaign national security adviser
J.D. GORDON — Ever since Donald J. Trump was elected to Make America Great Again, the self-declared #Resistance has terrorized him and many innocent Americans. Yet while they liken themselves to the French Resistance of the 1940s fighting Nazi occupation, or even more fancifully to Star Wars, the part of French history they most resemble is 150 years earlier, never mind that galaxy far, far away.... Says House’s “impeachment in search of articles” is “the most rushed, least thorough, and most unfair” impeachment inquiry in modern history
YOUTUBE — In a historic speech Thursday on the Senate floor, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell described "partisan rage" – rather than rational, deliberative process – as the driving force behind House Democrats' impeachment of President Donald Trump Wednesday, which the GOP leader repeatedly characterized as "rushed," "thin," and "weak." He called the three-year-long process that began before the president took office an "impeachment in search of articles" and said the past 12 weeks have been "the most rushed, least thorough, and most unfair impeachment inquiry in modern history." Citing compelling factual and historical evidence, McConnell made clear the Senate has a duty to reject House Democrats' "toxic new precedent that[, if not repudiated,] will echo well into the future."... BREITBART — The top Senate Republican is denouncing the "unfair" House impeachment of President Donald Trump and reassuring Trump and his supporters that "moments like this are why the United States Senate exists." Sen. Mitch McConnell, in remarks prepared for a Thursday floor speech, accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of being afraid to send "their shoddy work product to the Senate" after she threw uncertainty into the impeachment process by refusing to say when she would send two impeachment articles to the Senate for a trial.... ANDREW MCCARTHY — I'll confess: Last night, when I was first told that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was toying with the idea of not delivering the two articles of impeachment voted by the House against President Trump, I assumed it was a joke. For these last weeks, the Democrat-dominated chamber has been in a mad rush to impeach the president. Democrats even tacked on article two – "obstruction of Congress" – because, they told us, time could not be wasted engaging in the usual negotiation and litigation over legislative demands for executive branch information. Trump is a clear and present threat to "continue" undermining our elections, we were admonished. That's why he needs to be impeached right now. That's why the political class cannot responsibly leave his fate up to the sovereign, the People, who will vote in November.... (more)

POLITICO — Rep. Jeff Van Drew on Thursday formally became a Republican, pledging his "undying support" for Donald Trump as the ex-Democrat sat next to the president in the White House. NEW YORK POST — It is said there are two things you should never watch being made: sausage and government budgets. Now we can add impeachment to the list of stomach-turning sights to avoid. The arcane rules, phony cordiality and debates over the second sentence in paragraph G of Point Six were bad enough, but the nausea meter hit the roof when Nancy Pelosi took the microphone. Wearing a funereal black dress, she stood next to a cardboard American flag and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.... (more)
