The private auction for the domain name
RenewAmerica.com started Tuesday, June 2, at noon. There are
34 bidders interested in acquiring this valuable URL, including us at
RenewAmerica. (Under auction rules, no more bidders can join.)
Most
of the bidders appear to be "speculators" who shop for desirable URLs that they
can turn around and sell at a profit. Usually, such bidders are not
willing to pay the top price at auction.
On the other hand, it looks like
there's at least one bidder who is not a speculator and who seriously wants the
RenewAmerica.com URL to expand their operation. In other words, they have
the same motivation as us.
This bidder — who is registered at the auction
under the name RenewCanada — could possibly be either a publisher who maintains
a Canadian website, or another Canadian organization that sells energy-related
products and would have reason to expand into the U.S.
We can't be sure,
but our internet research brought up these two possibilities. Right now,
RenewCanada is the top bidder at the auction.
Because we have at least
one very serious competitor, we thought we should let you know that the
competition for RenewAmerica.com may be stiff and well-funded — more so than we
were hoping.
If you've already donated to our auction fund, please
consider making another contribution. Every dollar may count going down to
the wire.
If you're considering making a donation, but haven't yet done
so, please be generous with your contribution.

us at RA that we obtain this very desirable URL — which will greatly improve our
ability to inform, assist, and influence grassroots Americans in the cause of
taking back our country.
Thanks so much, and may God bless you for your
generosity.
