WASHINGTON EXAMINER Rep. Louie Gohmert is perhaps the most politically fearless member of Congress. The conservative Texas Republican is legendary for bucking his party leaders, including a high-profile challenge this month of House Speaker John Boehner for his position. And he's a favorite target of liberals and late-night talk show hosts, who routinely mock the Tea Party favorite for what they consider his extreme -- or even conspiratorial -- views.... (more)

WES VERNON, RA ANALYST So we will all live happily ever, right? A U.S. president seems to be giving us that assurance as he's set to make nice with Fidel Castro. President Obama is making himself "relevant" in the only way a spoiled child knows how to make the kind of attention-getting noise whose message is "Hey! Don't forget me. I'm here."... (more)

It's also a new high-water mark for director Clint Eastwood, whose previous weekend record was the $29.5 million wide-release opening for 2008's "Gran Torino." At 84, he's still got it.... (more)

JEROME R.
