CLIFF KINCAID — Conservatives who backed Judge Brett Kavanaugh without examining his record are looking like complete fools. Before the sexual assault charges surfaced, he was already on record saying the atrocious Supreme Court decisions on abortion-on-demand and "gay marriage" were "settled law." Now, his character is under assault as questions surface about the party atmosphere and secular nature of his Jesuit-run Catholic high school. Catholic "education" has become another crisis.... JOAN SWIRSKY — Judge Brett Kavanaugh has always been in the crosshairs of the left, ever since he played a major role in urging the impeachment of their icon of moral rectitude, President Bill Clinton, and also led the investigation into the alleged suicide (or fishy murder) of Vince Foster, Clinton's Deputy White House Counsel and close friend of Ms. Hillary.... BRYAN FISCHER — An accuser has crawled out of the shadows to charge Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh with sexual assault. The accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, contends that 36 years ago Kavanaugh, in a drunken stupor, shut her in a room at a party and clumsily attempted to undress her.... (more)

JOSEPH FARAH — I have always found the story of Nicodemus, told in three separate passages in the Gospel of John, among the most fascinating stories in the Bible. Like much of Scripture, there's a lot more to it than meets the eye. Here was a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin whose very Greek name has two seemingly relevant meanings -- "Innocent Blood" and "Victory of the People." With a name like that, Nicodemus might have been expected to be on the lookout for the Messiah who would restore the world to the way it was intended to be at Creation before the fall. Or maybe we read too much into some Bible names.... (more)

WORLDNETDAILY — Ever wonder how the Deep State works? Do you understand how what is becoming known as "the Media-Intelligence Complex" works? Fox News' Maria Bartiroma took the time Sunday morning to explore these issues with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., who patiently exposed how leaks by law enforcement and intelligence agencies to the media result in fake news stories that bolster the case for investigations and indictments of innocent people and prosecutions in which no crimes were actually perpetrated.... WASHINGTON TIMES — Another climate-change claim by former Vice President Al Gore is coming under fire, this one involving Hurricane Florence. Mr. Gore said Friday that two major storms from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans had never made landfall at the same time, referring to Hurricane Florence, the Category 1 hurricane that struck North Carolina on Friday, and Super Typhoon Mangkhut, which hit the Philippines early Saturday.... USA TODAY — Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has repeatedly told the news media that Twitter doesn't ban content based on users' viewpoints. Earlier this month, at a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing, members of Congress tested him on that assertion and asked several times whether Twitter engaged in suppressing more conservative voices. Each time, Dorsey replied no.... (more)

ROBERT KNIGHT — "The Constitution poses no threat to our current form of government." That was the late Joe Sobran's ironic take mostly on the courts' blatantly unconstitutional usurpations over the past few decades. The most powerful evidence that federal judges have eclipsed the other branches of government is the circus surrounding President Trump's nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. This should not be as big a deal as it is.... (more)

WASHINGTON TIMES — The Trump administration ripped up federal regulations at a record pace this year and saved taxpayers $1.3 billion, double the goal set by the president, according to an American Action Forum analysis. Casey Mulligan, chief economist of the President Trump's Council of Economic Advisers, said the budget savings are actually higher because the Obama administration underestimated the cost of its red tape. Government budget scorekeepers use the estimated budget cost at implementation to assess savings from a rollback. The same data were used in the analysis.... (more)

WASHINGTON EXAMINER — President Barack Obama's election in 2008 represented a new chapter in history. His meteoric rise to the presidency was swift and shocked not only a nation, but also the political elites, including Democratic favorites such as Sens. Hillary Clinton and John Edwards. But as we look back on the eight years that Obama served as president, we see a much different picture -- a picture that's certainly historic, but for all the wrong reasons.... (more)

WORLDNETDAILY — A university professor who beat his school in a fight over free speech says it's essential that students hear more than one side of an issue. If they can't, warns John McAdams, "then it becomes not education, but indoctrination." His comments came in an interview with Foundation for Individual Rights in Education only a few weeks after the state Supreme Court rebuked Marquette University in Milwaukee for its politically correct code of conduct for tenured professors that succumbs "to the dominant academic culture of micro-aggressions, trigger warnings and safe spaces."... WASHINGTON TIMES — Hundreds of evacuees from Hurricane Florence, many of them with children and pets, made their way through the Smoky Mountains this weekend to a Christian summer camp, relieved to find shelter from the deadly storm. GRABIEN NEWS — Hurricane Florence is now bearing down on North Carolina, and the media is looking to score political points. On MSNBC, host Chris Hayes invited meteorologist Eric Holthaus on to argue global warming is making hurricanes worse, and that President Trump is to blame. "We have a president that is denying the impacts of, you know, this hurricane season last year and this year and actively making the problem worse by, you know, not addressing this root cause of worsening storms," Holthaus told to a nodding Hayes...
