ROBERT KNIGHT — During the lead-up to the Vietnam War, the media sometimes carried horrific images of Buddhist monks setting themselves afire to protest the South Vietnamese government. These tragic self-immolations were literally Pyrrhic victories for the protesters, who never got to see the results of their sacrifice.... (more)

WASHINGTON TIMES — The combined efforts of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and the U.S. were not enough to deter thousands of migrants who broke through barricades or swam into Mexico over the weekend, defying their home government's calls for them to return and America's warnings that their journey is futile.... JOSEPH FARAH — The New York Times is apoplectic -- again. But this time, it's because of something so scary to the left, so unimaginably horrific, so brutally honest, so politically incorrect -- an act of courage so profound by President Trump -- that it could possibly save the country from ruin.... BRIETBART — Less than a year before gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum publicly denounced President Donald Trump's efforts to investigate the threat of voter fraud, Gillum's brother, Marcus Gillum, voted in the 2016 general election in Tallahassee, Florida while a resident of Chicago, Illinois. According to Florida law, you must be a legal resident in Florida to vote in elections. Casting an illegal vote in Florida is a third-degree felony.... (more)

WASHINGTON TIMES — A report from Iranian dissidents shows how the hard-line Islamic regime places terrorist operatives abroad under the cover of diplomacy. From Austria to Albania to Iraq, an expansionist Iran has turned embassies into terrorism planning sites to meddle in host governments and hunt down the opposition, according to the report by the National Council of Resistance of Iran. The coalition includes the activist chapter known as MEK, which operates far-flung spy networks in Iran.... (more)

WORLDNETDAILY — Stuffed into boxes and freezers, some 63 unexplained fetuses have now been discovered at two Detroit area funeral homes sparking grisly concerns of a second Kermit Gosnell-style scandal. Detroit Police executed a search warrant at a west-side funeral home near Wayne State University and removed 63 remains of fetuses, police said, while custody of the remains -- found at the Perry Funeral Home, on Trumbull just north of Warren Avenue -- was turned over to state investigators, who immediately declared the business closed and its license suspended, according to a statement from Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.... WASHINGTON TIMES — It was a movie destined for failure -- relying on crowdfunding for its shoestring budget, garnering little to no attention among liberal media outlets and opening in only 673 theaters around the country. Still, "Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer" succeeded in its opening weekend at the box office, becoming the No. 12 film release last week. Its $1.16 million in ticket sales placed the film just behind "A Simple Favor" ($1.3 million) and just ahead of "Crazy Rich Asians" ($1 million), according to the Box Office Mojo website.... (more)

WASHINGTON EXAMINER — Sen. Elizabeth Warren's ex-husband co-founded a DNA testing company and wrote one of the first computer codes for making genetic comparisons. WASHINGTON TIMES — Mexico has asked the United Nations for assistance with the migrant caravan knocking on its border, saying international officials must help figure out who deserves asylum and who should be deported or refused entry. Hundreds of Mexican police faced off Thursday across the Mexico-Guatemala border against the vanguard of the caravan, which has grown to some 4,000 people, mostly from Honduras. Some migrants reportedly made it to shelters in Mexico.... (more)

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER — A billboard advertising the new Halloween movie opening Friday was altered after a street artist swapped out an image of serial killer Michael Myers and replaced it with one of Maxine Waters. The gigantic billboard at Pico Boulevard in West Hollywood remains intact, only the congresswoman is now holding the sharp butcher knife in her right hand, looking ready to plunge it into an unsuspecting victim. The phrase "#Uncivil Democrats" has also been added.... (more)

JERRY NEWCOMBE — My Irish-American blood recoils whenever I hear the word "Fredericksburg." So many young Irishmen were sent to a needless early death because of the slaughter that occurred in that Virginia city 53 miles south of Washington, D. C., during the American Civil War in December 1862.... (more)

TIMOTHY P. CARNEY — I began attending mass regularly in late 2000 at St. Joseph's on Capitol Hill. The pastor was Fr. Paul Lavin. I didn't know at the time, but in the prior decade, a man had accused Fr. Lavin of molesting him as a boy. A couple of years later, after I had moved to the other side of the Hill and mostly went to another parish, Fr. Lavin was suspended after a second accusation of sexual abuse came out.... (more)

We're not satisfied with the way Obamacare is working."... (more)
