PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY The problem with Obamacare isn't only that it's careening toward a financial train wreck. It's also a slush fund to pay off Obama's political activists to carry out a massive invasion of privacy that dwarfs the NSA's collection of personal data on American citizens.... (more)

MICHELLE MALKIN Out: The boy who cried wolf. In: The girl who cried birth control. Desperate Democrats are imposing false-alarm feminist politics on a high-stakes recall election in Colorado this month. It's a golden opportunity for independent-minded women to reject empty femme-a-goguery and tear up the Sandra Fluke card.... (more)

CLIFF KINCAID The New York Times story, "President Gains McCain's Backing on Syria Attack," is predictable, considering that Obama had invited Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to the White House for the specific purpose of supporting his proposed military strike on Syria. Obama has also asked the same two senators to travel to Egypt to undermine the military leaders who overthrew the Muslim Brotherhood government there.... (more)

ALAN KEYES "[F]or treason is indeed ... not only offenses against the ... government, but also that accumulation of guilt which arises whenever a superior reposes a confidence in a subject or inferior ... [who] so abuses that confidence, so forgets the obligations of duty, subjection, and allegiance, as to destroy the life of any such his superior. ..." CLIFF KINCAID I'm usually on the opposite side of people from the Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) group, but Peter Hart's article "The New Crossfire: Where Both Sides Support War With Syria" is right on target. Peter Hart is the activism director at the left-wing group. He is already troubled by the direction of the new CNN "Crossfire" program, even though it is not on the air yet... (more)

MCCLATCHY While President Barack Obama insists he wants only a limited air attack on Syria, his proposed authorization of force would empower him to do much more than that. Congress is likely to impose tighter reins, as lawmakers have learned that presidents are prone to expand on powers once granted... (more)

HOT AIR Hey, this could be progress. About this time last year, the Democratic National Convention booed when the platform committee tried to backtrack and add a mention of God that had been earlier removed. In Iowa, at least Democrats have gone back to openly praying, but perhaps they should be hoping that God isn't listening:... (more)

ROBERT KNIGHT With a first term marked by executive overreach, Barack Obama is getting ever cozier with governing by decree in the fifth year of his rule. The "people" elected him twice, so why should he wait on Congress to enact legislation? He said as much when he declared, "we can't wait," while freeing federal agencies from the bondage of working within the law.... (more)

LIFESITENEWS It's sackcloth and ashes time. Belgium is really gearing up its euthanasia-followed-by-organ-harvesting regime--and apparently the transplant medical community has no moral qualms.
