We at RenewAmerica are participating in a 3-day private auction to acquire the domain name RenewAmerica.com — a URL that we have long sought to obtain, which recently became available.
The auction will run from June 2 through June 5.
Because the auction is "private," it is not open to the general public. It is open only to those who signed up by the June 1 deadline and agreed to the required minimum bid of $69. RenewAmerica fulfilled this requirement, and is one of only 34 bidders participating.
We've been given to believe that it may take as much as $5,000 to win the auction. Certainly, a war chest of that amount would discourage other competitors and give us an inside edge during the bidding.
