Destroying innocence one child at a time

On a daily basis, we see the innocence of children eroded. Television, Internet articles, and social media combine to allow children to enter a world of sexualization at an earlier age – and adults and parents just seem to accept this. Indeed, even some embrace it and welcome it into their schools and their homes. When will we realize the damage we are doing? When will we say enough is enough?

Last week, my husband and I were watching America's Got Talent, as we are always impressed with those who share their gifts in beautiful and, often, artistic ways. What a shock when 12-year-old Josh Orlian came to the stage. He said he was a "stand-up comic" and his jokes, if you can call them that, were filled with smut. And yet the crowd went wild!

A Jewish blogger said it best: "It apparently was his first appearance before an audience other than his family or friends, and the jokes were surprisingly risqué for a Modern Orthodox day school student."

What's wrong with this picture? A 12-year-old child shocking only some and sending an audience of hundreds to its feet is perhaps a tiny peek into the culture we live in today.

America is clearly in a moral free fall. Josh Orlian is a victim of a culture without moral guidelines. Orlian's apparent ignorance about smutty topics in "jokes" is not at all funny. This boy's performance is but one example of a growing attitude among parents, school teachers, and those who influence them – like Planned Parenthood – that tolerance and permissiveness in all matters sexual is good for children.

Really?

Take, for example, American Life League's Hooking Kids on Sex video. According to ALL's Stop Planned Parenthood International,
You will be shocked when you view American Life League's latest video report. Directed toward adults only, the report, Hooking Kids on Sex, contains jolting, unedited pictures from Planned Parenthood's community efforts to indoctrinate children and teens into a sick culture of sex. This report is not for the faint of heart. It is, however, a long-overdue wake-up call.
The Hooking Kids on Sex video is but a miniscule slice of the larger pie being served to our kids today. Such unsavory tidbits have contributed to the decomposition of a social structure that once respected families, honored parental rights, and believed that children should be nurtured rather than seduced. In those days, folks who are my age actually expected moral principles to be taught and lived. You might say, "Oh well, Judie is 70 and she simply is not with it these days." But you would be wrong. The trouble is, I am with it, and it scares me to death because I have 11 grandchildren who are going to confront this every day of their lives unless something dramatic happens in America's families.

Society is slowly twisting reality into such a contorted vision of the human person that nothing but tragedy awaits; and we see this everywhere.

For example, in the state of Massachusetts, taxpayers are going to pay an estimated $2.6 million per year for sex change surgeries. Once a rarity, such transgender surgeries are quite commonplace today.

In addition, Planned Parenthood provides "transgender health services," catering to the needs of these transgender men and women.

Yet, medical experts like psychiatrist Paul McHugh tell us:
Policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment, and prevention. This intensely felt sense of being transgendered constitutes a mental disorder in two respects. The first is that the idea of sex misalignment is simply mistaken-it does not correspond with physical reality. The second is that it can lead to grim psychological outcomes.
But tolerance trumps truth.

The United States government funds Planned Parenthood's effort to sexualize America's children with sums in excess of $540 million, turning a blind eye to the results of such psychological assaults on the minds of these children.

Tolerance of emotional and spiritual child abuse trumps truth.

As childhood itself is redefined, the new normal for kids becomes less about experiencing being a child and more about experiencing all things sexual. In the process, we lose the precious commodity known as innocence.

Tolerance can be deadly to the soul.
