Acting to expose the pill

Take action tomorrow. Follow our lead and educate your family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers about a toxic and deadly chemical that millions of women willingly ingest every day. If we don't tell them the truth, who will?

It is no secret that American Life League has been hard at work exposing the facts about the birth control pill ever since our first educational efforts took shape in the early 1980s. This is because we know that it is impossible to end the killing of the preborn if one fails to expose the pill, which is also deadly to children prior to birth.

We are by no means the first voice to echo this truth. In 1921, New York City's archbishop Patrick Joseph Hayes made this profound statement about birth control versus abortion in a pastoral letter: pp 6&7 "To take life after its inception is a horrible crime; but to prevent human life that the Creator is about to bring into being, is satanic. In the first instance, the body is killed while the soul lives on; in the latter, not only a body but an immortal soul is denied existence in time and in eternity." His words ring as true today as they did when he wrote them, and others have spoken and taught as courageously as he, including St. John Paul II.

In Evangelium Vitae, the sainted pope taught that
despite their differences of nature and moral gravity, contraception and abortion are often closely connected, as fruits of the same tree. It is true that in many cases contraception and even abortion are practiced under the pressure of real-life difficulties, which nonetheless can never exonerate from striving to observe God's law fully. Still, in very many other instances such practices are rooted in a hedonistic mentality unwilling to accept responsibility in matters of sexuality, and they imply a self-centered concept of freedom, which regards procreation as an obstacle to personal fulfilment. The life which could result from a sexual encounter thus becomes an enemy to be avoided at all costs, and abortion becomes the only possible decisive response to failed contraception.

The close connection which exists, in mentality, between the practice of contraception and that of abortion is becoming increasingly obvious. It is being demonstrated in an alarming way by the development of chemical products, intrauterine devices and vaccines which, distributed with the same ease as contraceptives, really act as abortifacients in the very early stages of the development of the life of the new human being.
To ignore these truths is to defeat our struggle against surgical abortion before we begin, and the Lord knows after the past 42 years of snail's pace movement, we should understand that the stakes are higher now than ever.

This is why we must literally take to the streets with our message of truth, hope, and love for every human being – each of whom is created by God and loved unconditionally by our Father. To be truly pro-life is to spread this truth while exposing the ugliness of that which robs men and women of their spiritual wholeness.

Popular blogger Matt Walsh understands this perfectly, writing
Feminists are on a constant quest to find double standards, yet they miss the most obvious ones. Women assume the enormous risk and consequence of birth control, and men just get free sex out of the deal.

Where is the feminist outrage when you need it?
Not only that, but clinical studies have shown that the use of birth control could even be defined as a racist practice since oral contraceptive use and breast cancer rates are higher among African American women than others. And according to some researchers these same women may die at a much higher rate from breast cancer.

So I would ask as well, where are the feminists? Where is the media? Where is the Church?

We will not wait for others to make the case that the pill is dangerous and deadly for babies, women, families, and the future of our society; we will get into the streets and tell it like it is ourselves.

This is what The Pill Kills Truth campaign is all about, and the action begins tomorrow, June 6, in towns, cities, and neighborhoods around this great nation.

Will you be there? Will you carry the message forward and keep it going for the love of women, babies, and the future of the family?

One thing is certain. We will be there, and we will not rest until everyone who needs to know this truth hears it.

Teaching truth in season and out is our goal, our mission, our responsibility, and our passion.
