Planned Parenthood does not have a medical facility in North Dakota. Planned Parenthood has never had a medical facility in North Dakota. Yet, it has found a way to spread its message endorsing uninhibited sex and receive significant taxpayer funding through North Dakota State University.

Planned Parenthood does operate its North Dakota Public Affairs and Education Offices in Fargo, ND. From that location, Planned Parenthood operates two major programs. They are "Safe Spaces" and "Reach One Teach One." Both involve partnering with North Dakota State University.

The inforum website reports on Planned Parenthood's Safe Spaces workshop in North Dakota. It states that "The program aims to give K-12 teachers tools to provide comprehensive sex education for students." Amy Jacobson, North Dakota's director of external affairs for Planned Parenthood, is quoted as saying that "The goal is for teachers to gain tools and skills to be nonjudgmental sources for students."

Safe Spaces is following the same methodology that Planned Parenthood followed to get sex education programs accepted in schools in America. In that instance, Dr. Mary Calderone, who was medical director of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, traveled the country speaking at colleges that were training teachers. She would give lectures telling the aspiring teachers that the way to be at the forefront of education was to include sexuality education in their classrooms. It was a scheme that worked and clearly serves as the model for the Safe Spaces program.

In addition to the Safe Spaces program, Planned Parenthood also runs a Reach One Teach One North Dakota (ROTO ND) program for youth, ages 14-19. As with the Safe Spaces effort, this is a train-the-trainers program. Unlike Safe Spaces, which trains teachers, this program trains young people to educate young people. According to Planned Parenthood's website, "Reach One Teach One is all about health, community, and responsibility. It is a peer education program in partnership with North Dakota State University that gives young people an opportunity to learn about real-life issues related to sexuality and then share their knowledge with others. Content of the lesson plans, taught by Planned Parenthood educators, is always comprehensive, medically accurate, and age-appropriate."

ROTO ND follows another nefarious scheme employed by Planned Parenthood across the country. Get inexperienced teens, indoctrinate them into the Planned Parenthood philosophies of uninhibited sex and birth control, and send them into their communities to recruit their peers to become customers of Planned Parenthood. In some cases, Planned Parenthood even rewards its successful peer educators with movie tickets, pizza parties, and other incentives.

The bottom-line reason Planned Parenthood engages in programs like Safe Spaces and ROTO is that they create a demand for Planned Parenthood products and services. Clearly, Planned Parenthood wants the future to include PP medical offices across the state of North Dakota. These programs will help bring about that future. In the meantime, Planned Parenthood is getting taxpayer dollars through NDSU to expand its presence in ND.

All of this despite an existing state law in North Dakota that reads: No funds of this state or any agency, county, municipality, or any other subdivision thereof and no federal funds passing through the state treasury or a state agency may be used as family planning funds by any person or public or private agency which performs, refers, or encourages abortion.

Fortunately, the citizens of North Dakota have become aware of what Planned Parenthood is doing and have begun to speak out and demand an end to taxpayer funding of PP education programs in the state.
