Safe killing is their cry

In Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll wrote: "'Curiouser and Curiouser!' cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English)."

Oh my, if Alice were here now observing the habits of the pro-aborts – including Planned Parenthood – she might just lose her ability to speak good English again. This would happen as a result of the latest cry from supporters of abortion killing who argue that "abortion is health care, and health care is a fundamental human right."

What? If that statement is not oxymoronic, we are not sure what is. Let's unpack it, shall we?

Webster defines healthcare as "efforts made to maintain or restore physical, mental, or emotional well-being especially by trained and licensed professionals."

Abortion kills people. Pro-abort Wendy Davis, among others, has admitted this in public. So to suggest that this act is a type of healthcare is outrageous.

Killing someone is the antithesis of true healthcare, no matter how twisted a mind might be. Alice is confused again.

Mind you, when proponents of aborting the preborn child cloak their statements in faddish arguments like a deadly definition of healthcare, they are attempting to deceive the public. And since many people do not think beneath the surface of such propaganda, pro-aborts literally get away with murder by calling it something else.

Next question: Is healthcare actually a "fundamental human right"? The short answer is no, it is not.

In the United States, the Bill of Rights outlines our fundamental rights as citizens of this nation. They include the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

While healthcare is an economic good, there is no fundamental human right to healthcare. This means that the state cannot impose healthcare on anyone, nor can it take it away. Political commentator Julie Borowski explains: "There is a big difference between a need and a right. Health care is a basic need that everyone is free to pursue. This means that the government cannot infringe on our right to pursue health care but no one owes us health care. Health care is a good just like food, clothing, and shelter."

However, on a personal level, while no expectant mother has a human right to abort her child, every woman has the "absolute right to choose not to bring her womb into use."

Now that makes sense! But in our sexually saturated, me first cultural environment, the plain and simple facts are often distasteful, so they are tossed aside in favor of gobbledygook. Thus the argument about aborting a baby as a human right.

These beliefs lead the pro-aborts to do some pretty amazing things, like the situation that recently occurred in Wisconsin, where Planned Parenthood Wisconsin is merging with Essential Health Clinic. The newspaper report describes Planned Parenthood as the "state's leading reproductive health care provider."

As we said, the situation gets curiouser and curiouser!

And the challenge to pro-life Americans grows more critical daily, which is why we must remain vigilant. In the Church document Gaudium et Spes, we are told: "A monumental struggle against the powers of darkness pervades the whole history of man. The battle was joined from the very origins of the world and will continue until the last day, as the Lord has attested. Caught in this conflict, man is obliged to wrestle constantly if he is to cling to what is good, nor can he achieve his own integrity without great efforts and the help of God's grace."

This is our challenge today when the handmaids of the evil one clamor for safe killing and do everything in their power to convince the uninformed that abortion is a human right!

Never grow weary of fighting on. With God's grace, we will prevail.
