The Devil, the liberal and the new hate

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The natural man and the spiritual man are bitter enemies.

The natural man is led by the father of lies... the prince of the air... the devil.
The spiritual man is led by the 'Truth and the Life'... the Lord and King... Jesus Christ.

The natural man believes we should celebrate who we are in our natural state of being.
The spiritual man understands what it means to be a vile sinner and laments his condition.

The natural man hates the things of God and will use ridicule, manipulation and force to destroy them.
The spiritual man seeks to share the spiritual gift of life bestowed by the Father, secured by the Son and received through the Holy Spirit.

The natural man proclaims, 'I love you!' and seeks to radically transform the world so it may conform to man's fallen state of being.
The spiritual man proclaims, 'I love you!' and encourages man to be radically transformed through the love and shed blood of Jesus Christ.

The natural man deems all exposition and public pronouncement of the spiritual depravity and fallen condition of man hate speech.
The spiritual man deems all efforts to deny, diminish and discredit the propensity and consequence of acts, atrocities and abominations committed by fallen man (as well as all efforts to seduce, deceive and manipulate the world in tolerating and embracing them) hate speech.

All too often, those who are politically liberal identify with (and are complicit to) the methods applied by the natural man.

There is a fierce battle...a bitter struggle...between the natural and spiritual man...inside ourselves and outside in the world... hence a perpetual tension prevails.

A tension that cannot be relieved by the inventions of the natural man or even the truly good intentions of the spiritual man.

But it will be relieved, nonetheless....

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

More on the struggle and the spiritual tension that abounds among the forces of good and evil in our day can be found in my book, America Lost ~ Finding Our Way Out of the Darkness
