Last week the entire world saw the televised assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. Much of America is still in shock and mourning, but there is also a massive crying out for why he was murdered. Was this a silencing, or a sacrifice?
While away for months on other assignments, I began to wonder if the Lord would again call me to write. Then last Wednesday while trying to learn details about Kirk’s murder, Steve Bannon from his Real America’s Voice War Room show said that with Charlie being taken, it is now “next man up.” Apparently, the U.S. Navy has a saying that when a man went down, or could not take control of his post, the call was for the next man up to take his place. I was shown at once that I am a next woman up and I believe scores of people are stepping up to continue Charlie’s mission of truth-telling to a dying world.
So, as with most murders or assassinations, there is always a why—a motive—for the heinous acts. In this case, what was a 31-year-old, diligent, devoted husband and father of two small children, and faithful Christian doing that deserved a death sentence in some people’s eyes? And as we are learning from social media posts, and even bold statements on cable “news” programs, from people who should know better than to speak such things, there was and is a lot of hatred for this impressive man. There are even death threats now against his wife!
Why is there so much hatred for him from the Radical Left? Most likely it is because he had the courage to go into the “belly of the beast” in colleges daring to speak truth and bring light of the Gospel into the darkness. Just as conservatives are not allowed/not welcome to go into black churches, they are also supposed to stay away from college campuses. Therefore, Charlie was trespassing on territory claimed for the kingdom of darkness.
The Lord Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (Jn. 10:10 NASB 1995) Consequently, it was dangerous for Charlie Kirk to enter into this dark territory. The thief had already stolen or destroyed much of the ability of these adolescents to reason, to think clearly, to hear the voice of God their Creator, to distinguish truth from lies and right from wrong. Their virtue, innocence, and ability to recognize biblical love was also snatched from them. And this thief is willing to cause them to do things that could send them to jail, to the firing squad, or maybe just to early deaths. Remember, by the time these kids get to college, they already had 13 years of brainwashing and indoctrination by the public school system.
Colleges have been breeding grounds for hatred and the tearing-down of everything good, sacred, and historical about our nation. Again, by the time they reach college, they are ripe for the kill. (And maybe the killing.) But Charlie Kirk was led to try to change their minds. He spoke TRUTH to the darkness and evil, knowing that the “truth will set you free.” (Jn. 8:32 NKJV))
The whole Scripture involves Jesus speaking to those who believe on Him and He says that if they continue in His Word that they are His disciples and will then know the truth and that truth will set them free. (Jn. 8:31-32 NKJV)
To begin to bring someone to the knowledge of Christ, truth must be spoken. Is this not also the case with leading someone into understanding the truth of the physical world around them? Truth actually begins to open the eyes of understanding in individuals where they can receive even more truth. Truth sounds different from lies, although our enemy, the devil/Satan, is an accomplished liar—the Father of lies (Jn. 8:44), who continues to lie and deceive anyone who will listen.
When these brainwashed, indoctrinated minds were given actual facts and truth from Charlie about information they received from online sources, Facebook, and chatrooms, one could visibly see an awakening/understanding begin to happen in most of these students, but not all. Light was overcoming darkness. Some have been so brainwashed they will be candidates for Antifa, and other radical organizations/causes. Case in point: Students attending this rally wanted Charlie Kirk dead!
The governor said the audience was about two thirds for Kirk, and one third against. But frankly, I do not trust this governor at all. He seems to be trying to whitewash the atrocity that happened on that campus and calls for proverbial hugs all around. Hugs will not solve the problem or the fact someone on that campus murdered Charlie Kirk! Therefore, the numbers against Charlie may have been much higher. There were very vocal and dangerous people there who were against Charlie Kirk, and he is indeed dead.
Please note that when I say there were dangerous people present, it is because anyone who calls for someone’s death is dangerous! Death threats are normally considered worthy of investigation by law enforcement. But in mobs, they can all get away with it. Why is this? We have seen it repeatedly happen around the country.
The Left would label these death calls “hate speech” if it were coming from the mouths of conservatives. But such speech and behavior do not happen from this part of America. In fact, we the conservatives are partially at fault for all the indoctrination, brain washing, radical behavior, and in-your-face-nastiness! How? Because in wanting to just get along, we surrendered to whatever the political correctness police demanded. We did not want confrontation, so we swallowed our own values and let the other side have its way. We did not choose people who would fight to keep the nonsense at bay or hold the judges accountable for unconstitutional decisions they were handing down. We allowed laws to be passed, without much protest, which stripped us of protection, and in some cases, took away our Constitutional rights. Parents who tried to stop the indoctrination and sexualization of their kids were stopped at almost every step of the way. However, with today’s absurdity, there are many parents who are joining the battle to try and change the schools and thus save their kids. But is it too late? We will discuss this topic in an upcoming article.
Rational, God-fearing Americans have been pushed aside by the “ruling class” of leftists so these radicals, and entitled, snotty-little-brat adolescents and grown adults can have their way. What more do they want? News Flash: They want us dead. And there are probably more deaths coming to any who dare to stand up and try to save our youth from everything decent about them being stolen, and their lives ruined. But our whole nation is being taken over by these radicals. Where are they coming from? Who is backing, guiding, and funding them? We will discuss this in the next article.
In the meantime, let us pray for Charlie Kirk’s family. It is hard for many of us to digest this tragic murder, and yet, we did not personally know him. A young man who was so vibrant should still be alive and enjoying his family, the career he had in helping young people to find their callings in order to live better, productive lives. And yet, someone decided to play God and take this life—putting him down like a rabid dog. But as his wife said, those responsible for his assassination “do not know what they have unleashed.” I submit that because this man served God and was an example to the masses, young and old, and was known around the world, that his death ignited a fire that may cause a spiritual awakening everywhere! The way he debated people is an example for how all of us can speak with those who are on the wrong paths. And yes, there are different paths, and different belief systems. One leads to life in both individuals and nations, while the other leads to death.
Prophecy teacher, author, and speaker, Paul McGuire (paulmcguire.us) speaks of two worldviews: A Humanistic one that does not believe in a real, personal God, and Judeo-Christian one that bases everything on God’s Truth. He says the humanistic worldview is “hostile to truth.” I would add, particularly to anything about God.
A part of the battle happened in Utah just one week ago. Was this assassination about silencing or a sacrifice? Really, only God knows the whole story. But, for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and God the Father, we are asking that God allow all those complicit in this heinous crime to be found and brought to justice. There are too many unanswered questions about other matters that the powers-that-be have refused to address. Consequently, Americans in mass have lost faith in our justice system.
May God help all of us to cope with this tragedy and may it bring many to Jesus, “Who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.” (Ps. 46:1 NASB 1995) The Lord Jesus is always ready to answer those who sincerely seek Him. To anyone willing to hear….
