Rev. Mark H. Creech
The first week of a new year often clarifies what matters most. Sometimes clarity comes through the law – when a state chooses either truth or confusion. Sometimes it comes through the conscience – when God presses His claim upon a soul. Sometimes it comes through hard evidence – when a long-promised public program is finally exposed for what it truly is.
This week’s edition of Truth for Our Times touches all three. We examine a major provision of HB 805, which took effect in North Carolina this week. It provides much-needed moral and legal clarity to protect women, children, and parental rights. Also shared is an evangelistic article, because no cultural battle matters more than the salvation of the soul. Finally, we address the NC Education Lottery, which continues to reveal itself as a broken promise and a moral failure that preys on the vulnerable while pretending to serve the public good.

North Carolina Affirms Biological Reality and Protects Women, Children Under HB 805
A key section of HB 805 – Prevent Sexual Exploitation/Women and Minors is now active in North Carolina, restoring a fundamental truth that should have never been questioned: sex is rooted in biology, not ideology. This article explains what the law does, why it matters, and how Christians should view it as an act of protection, clarity, and compassion for those most at risk.
Seven Critical Reasons You Should Receive Christ in 2026
A new year does not merely mark time – it reminds us that time is running out. Using Scripture, vivid illustration, and sober urgency, this evangelistic piece lays out why delaying to receive Christ is spiritually dangerous, why the human heart hardens through resistance, and why 2026 may be God’s appointed season to finally surrender and be saved. Could it be you? If you have already received Christ, forward this article to someone you know who doesn’t know the Lord.
The NC Education Lottery: A Moral Failure and a Broken Promise
A recent state audit shows lottery sales soaring, while the percentage returned to education has shrunk dramatically from the amount promised. But the deeper issue is not financial; it is moral. This article confronts the lottery as a system built on false hope, exploitation, and deception, and calls believers to see it through the clear lens of Scripture.
Thank you for reading and for standing for truth in a confused age. As always, I encourage you not only to share these articles but to pray for our state, for families, for vulnerable children, and for the spiritual awakening only God can bring to our state and nation.
