Will President Obama's diss prompt Cardinal Dolan to admit his folly and disinvite?

Ironically, America's most pro-abortion president ever is an ingrate too and Catholic Church officials helped him along his way to the White House and have much for which to atone, and Cardinal Dolan should begin.

Timothy Cardinal Dolan is the president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York. Bill Donahue, president of the Catholic League, refers to him as "the Pope of America."

Cardinal Dolan invited President Obama to the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner in October and hoped to deliver the benedictions at both the Republican and Democrat conventions.

Republican presidential nominee to be Mitt Romney approved of a benediction by Cardinal Dolan.

NOT President Obama.

Catholics should be offended.

But great good can come from this diss that did not come before it: a disinvitation to President Obama.

Even before this embarrassing presidential diss, Judie Brown, president and co-founder of American Life League, the nation's largest grassroots pro-life educational organization, had called upon Cardinal Dolan to disinvite President Obama to the Al Smith Dinner and people to encourage him to do so.

Brown issued a press release stating, "This invitation gives the appearance of camaraderie with a president whose actions and policies are no less hostile than the Roman emperor Decius http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decius who tried to root out the Christian religion by issuing an edict ordering all citizens to worship the state gods or face dire consequences," and then posted a powerful article tersely titled "No dinner for Obama."

Brown did not mince words: "It makes no sense at all for Catholics to fight for religious freedom on the one hand while dining with a religious freedom bully on the other. Such a situation is not prudent, nor is it Christlike — even if some view it as politically correct."

Brown's inspired message is more compelling than ever:

"Now it's time to send a clear message to Obama that he cannot have it both ways. Either he respects religious freedom and repudiates the contraceptive mandate or he will have to dine at home on October 18.

"Cardinal Dolan has already laid down a reasonable argument for disinviting Obama, saying, 'We have made it clear in no uncertain terms to the government that we are not at peace with its invasive attempt to curtail the religious freedom we cherish as Catholics and Americans. . . We did not ask for this fight, but we will not run from it.'

"Action Item:

"Let us not run from this either, but face it head on. Please respectfully and prayerfully communicate your concerns directly to Cardinal Dolan:

Cardinal Timothy Dolan Archdiocese of New York, 1011 First Ave, New York, NY 10022

Central Archdiocese of New York switchboard: 212-371-1011"

Please pray that Cardinal Dolan will be humble and finally give good example by acknowledging his egregious mistake and rescinding his invitation to President Obama.

President Obama calls to mind the money changers in the Temple, not a repentant sinner.

Ironically, America's most pro-abortion president ever is an ingrate too and Catholic Church officials helped him along his way to the White House and have much for which to atone, and Cardinal Dolan should begin.

As Brown put it:

"As hard as it is to believe, the Catholic Church willingly funded at least some of Barack Obama's community organizing training in his early days. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/catholic-bishops-helped-to-fund-alinsky-training-for-barack-obama-according A new book reveals that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' (USCCB) http://www.usccb.org/about/catholic-campaign-for-human-development/ Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) paid a young Barack Obama's airfare to a training program on community organizing given by the Industrial Areas Foundation — http://www.progress.org/alinsky.htm an organization founded by leftist radical Saul Alinsky."

"...CCHD channeled its funds to organizations engaged in 'systemic change.' In its own words, CCHD sought to expose 'the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of community controlled, self-help organizations and through transformative education.' If that sounds familiar to you, recall Obama's mantra of 2008: 'hope and change.'

"With this background and a whole lot more, Phyllis Schlafly and expert journalist George Neumayr set about writing the new book entitled, No Higher Power: Obama's War on Religious Freedom. The Blaze quotes from the book: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/new-books-ironic-claim-catholic-church-paid-to-send-obama-to-an-alinsky-founded-groups-community-organizing-training-see-the-documents/ 'In the 1980s, the Catholic archdiocese of Chicago contributed to the training of Obama in the very Alinskyite radicalism that would culminate in such anti-religious measures as the HHS mandate. In fact, in the course of writing this book, we met a source who once had access to copies of documents from the archives of the Chicago archdiocese. This source supplied us with never-before-published copies of invoices, checks, and letters that confirm the Church's support for the man who would one day seek to destroy its religious freedom."
