There is no global warming, and it's not causing hurricanes

The media is understandably preoccupied with Hurricane Dorian and its immense strength. Meteorologists and citizens alike are absorbed in forecasts of the hurricane's track, and whether it will hit Florida broadside or work its way up the eastern seaboard.

And as anyone could predict, the Whackadoodle Caucus is in full throat, blaming mythical global warming for an increase in the number and intensity of hurricanes. They are dead wrong on all counts.

First, in order to have global warming be the cause of anything, it has to be happening. But it's not. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – not part of the vast rightwing conspiracy – there has been no U.S. warming at all since 2005. Yes, you read that right. No warming, period. Nada, zip, zilch, bupkis.

The problem with surface-based temperature readings prior to 2005 is that many of the thermometers were haphazardly placed near artificial heat sources – right next to runways, for instance. There is a well-known urban heat-island effect, where temperature readings in cities will be higher than outlying areas because of concentrations of people, cars, buildings, and miles of asphalt.

And "scientists" were caught jiggering the land-based data sets, arbitrarily lowering temperatures that were recorded decades ago and raising recent ones. All of this to create the utterly bogus appearance of global warming because that's what the narrative required.

The U.S. Climate Reference Network, established 14 years ago, consists of 114 temperature stations spaced uniformly across the lower 48 states in pristine settings. The consequence? Warming over the continental U.S. vanished.

In fact, it is evident that there has been no warming since the 1930s. Temperature readings at the pre-existing stations indicate that temperatures are the same now as they were 80 years ago, irrefutable proof that all of the U.S. warming since 1930 is due to human adjustments to raw data. If anything, temperatures are cooler today than they were 14 years ago.

Satellite data is no help for climate crisis types. The Department of Energy's study of NASA satellite data reveal not only that there has been no warming in the U.S., there has been virtually no global warming anywhere in the world since 1994, almost 25 years. This, of course, is during the same time the accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere continued to accelerate. Quite simply, CO2 does not cause detectable global warming at all.

In fact, it looks as though "scientists" are trying to create the illusion of global warming by jiggering the satellite data just as they did with surface temperature readings. "NOAA scientists made adjustments to temperature records to show more than twice as much warming as the old analysis at the global scale from 1998 to 2012." (Emphasis mine.)

Dr. Roy Spencer, a former senior climate scientist at NASA, compared the new RSS results with the data collected by UAH (University of Alabama Huntsville) satellites. "I suspect Carl Mears [with RSS] grew tired of global warming 'denialists' using the RSS (Remote Sensing Systems) satellite data to demonstrate an 18-year 'pause. So, now that problem is solved." Even with all their fudging, satellite instruments report temperatures have risen only a miniscule 0.15 degrees Celsius since 2005.

As far as the connection between (mythical) global warming and hurricane frequency and intensity, NOAA says climate change hysterics are out of luck. Just last month, NOAA issued this statement: "In the Atlantic, it is premature to conclude with high confidence that human activities – and particularly GHGs that cause global warming – have already had a detectable impact on hurricane activity...In short, the historical Atlantic hurricane frequency record does not provide compelling evidence for a substantial greenhouse warming-induced long-term increase." (Emphasis mine.)

Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

In fact, NOAA adds insult to injury by observing that the trend in landfall hurricanes has shown a downward trend over the last 125 years. "U.S. landfalling hurricanes...show a slight negative trend beginning from 1900 or from the late 1800s...." The Stormfax Weather Almanac has chronicled US mainland hurricanes by decade since 1851. They record hurricanes by year and strength using the Saffir-Simpson wind scale. Their data reveals that hurricanes by decade and average strength by decade are relatively flat lines showing little change over the past 170 years.

And it's even worse than that. In fact, past hurricanes were far more intense. According to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, "Intense hurricanes, possibly more powerful than any storms New England has experienced in recorded history, frequently pounded the region during the first millennium. The intense prehistoric hurricanes documented by the study were fueled in part by warmer sea surface temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean during the ancient period investigated in the study."

Wait, what?? Ocean temperatures were warmer 1200 years ago, before toxic males began driving SUVs and grilling steaks in their backyards, and before factories started releasing billowing clouds of greenhouse gases out their smokestacks? If man is causing everything, how is that even possible?

God, and not man, is in control of the winds and the waves. "When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses" (Jeremiah 10:13). Since God is the only one who can do anything about hurricanes, it might be wise for all Americans to get to know him as soon as possible.
