ALAN KEYES — I don't believe that the GOP quisling leaders want to thwart the nomination of Donald Trump. For years, they have pretended to espouse conservative positions, while by their actions they have betrayed pretty much everything conservatives are supposed to espouse. Now Trump comes along spouting conservative rhetoric, while his lifelong actions have been in opposition to pretty much everything he is now pretending to espouse... (more)

ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION — On March 1, Donald Trump finished first in Georgia's Republican presidential primary with 39 percent of the vote. CONSERVATIVE REVIEW — The conventional wisdom is that Donald Trump will win the New York primary with well over 50 percent and win nearly all of the Empire State's 95 delegates this upcoming Tuesday. While this is certainly a possibility, there is also a chance, and not a far-fetched one that Trump will finish with under 50 percent of the vote. If that happens, it will signal a seismic shift in the race for the Republican nomination.... (more)

BYRON YORK — There have been moments in the Republican campaign when Donald Trump seemed close to locking up the party's presidential nomination. The candidate who won New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Michigan, Massachusetts, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and more displayed strength across the country that would, in normal times at least, lead to overall victory... NATIONAL REVIEW — On April 5, conservatives around the nation, beleaguered and bleary-eyed after months of Donald Trump's rampaging through the 2016 presidential primary season, received some comforting news: Wisconsin Republicans had dealt Trump a decisive defeat in the state's primary that day, awarding most of their delegates to his leading competitor, Texas senator Ted Cruz.... ANDREW C. MCCARTHY — For many years, I was reluctant to write a memoir of my experience leading the investigation and prosecution of the jihadists against whom we are still at war over 20 years later. For one thing, while an exhilarating experience for a trial lawyer, it was also a very hard time for my family, for obvious reasons... (more)

JOSEPH FARAH — All the analysts seem to be persuaded that Donald Trump doesn't understand the Republican Party rules that cost him some delegates in Colorado. The rules were published last year. They were there for all the candidates to read and understand. Any of them could have done what the Ted Cruz campaign did in wooing those delegates. It wasn't against the rules. It was part of the rules.... (more)
