The single all important difference between Hillary and Trump

We have had a year of intense debates and preparation to decide which candidate in the running, will take the helm of this nation.

Like many, this writer was inclined to support Ted Cruz, which I faithfully did until he dropped out of the race. I found myself in the most precarious position after writing some 40 articles about Donald Trump that would be good reason not to choose him over Sen. Cruz – now what?

I needed more than just the fact that compared to Hillary Clinton; Trump looked like a knight in shining armor. That alone was not enough for me, so I began looking deeper into the life and times of that man who has his name blazoned across some of the most impressive edifices in the world.

It was not until I remembered an article I published over ten years past entitled "Dating Christians – The Best Advice You Will Ever Hear" that I realized that I had the already found a formula by which to make the ultimate comparison between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

The formula was the advice that I had given to people seeking a mate for life and I have been counseling others with that principle for over forty years. It has never proven wrong and I saw that it could be trusted.

It was the idea of asking the prospective mate a question – to pose a question that they might ask themselves in a quiet personal moment of time – a question that only they could answer. It is framed in such a way that for most people it would be impossible to lie. Assuming that even inveterate liars find it hard to lie to themselves – it was always a sure bet.

The question posed to the prospective mate was; if you were alone, thinking and you decided to ask yourself, what do I really want out of life – what would your answer be to yourself?

If the answer was, riches, love, children – that answer would be true. If you chose that person for a mate or not, you would find that many years down the road they would have either found what they were searching for or they would still be actively pursuing it.

I have never seen this formula fail in all the years I have engaged it or advised others to make use of it.

It was not difficult to transfer this formula to both Hillary and Trump because in a presidential race the motives and aspirations of the candidates are constantly under scrutiny by both the public and the candidates. They must constantly give reasons on what they intend to do and why.

We know that in the quiet time in their own lives they have to scrutinize and deliberate on what they see as the reason they are seeking the high office of president.

Not being privy to their answer, we have to resort to their responses to the endless questions posed by the rest of us.

We can hang on every word and nuance as we should, until we have milked both motive and purpose out of each candidate.

Using the principle of this formula after pouring over the life, the record and the rhetoric of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump – the conclusion is obvious if not blaring.

So what does Hillary want out of her presidency, and what does she want for America – The answer that stands out above anything else is – power!

Conversely, what Mr. Trump wants clearly seems to be purpose!

From the beginning Trump has made that purpose known – "To make America great again."

This leaves little room for confusion or doubt; if we care about this nation and its future we have only one real choice.

As a word of caution, if you are still in doubt especially on the idea of a last minute candidate to replace Donald Trump it may be said that you will end up aiding and abetting the enemies of America, but at the least you will surely be making a very unadvised decision.

Think straight – our nation depends on it.

"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." (Proverbs 15: 22)
