WES VERNON — In the last two years, America has been caught up in one of the most crisis level uproars in its "peacetime" history. The obsession of a significant movement to remove a duly-elected sitting president from office has taken us to the edge of a constitutional showdown arguably as intense as the charged environment that dogged Abraham Lincoln leading up to the Civil War.... BRUCE DEITRICK PRICE — Okay, kids, gather round the campfire. There is something you need to know. Something scary. You are a participant in a vast psychological war. Believe it or not, you are the enemy in this war. You are the primary target. Yes, they want you, your unformed personality, your uninformed mind. They want to shape you and make you so that finally you're indistinguishable from other kids. You're not supposed to know much or think much.... (more)

CHARLES HURT — Just in time to remind America why voters elected Donald Trump president two years ago, ex-President Barack Obama emerged from political exile last week. Pompous, insufferable, self-enthralled, cliched and uninspiring, he picked up right where he left off. Reliving his eight-year campaign that cost over 1,000 Democrat politicians their seats, Mr. Obama put on his psychiatrist cap and declared our current politics mentally unwell.... (more)

NATIONAL REVIEW — Former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos was sentenced Friday to 14 days in jail after pleading guilty in October to misleading federal investigators. Prosecutors argued that Papadopoulos, who as part of his sentence must also pay a $9,500 fine and perform community service, withheld information that was "material" to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, though Trump and his allies have cast the former aide as a low-level "coffee boy" with no real influence or access to the candidate....
