NOM National Marriage News, June 11, 2010.

From Brian S. Brown, President National Organization for Marriage, " On the cultural front, you may have heard about the new study in Pediatrics that advocates are using to push the idea that children don't need a mom and a dad. You don't need to go into a lot of social science technicalities to see the big limitations of this study. The lesbians are a self-selected group of volunteers. They aren't using nationally representative data. In New York City last week there was a funny little story about officials offering same-sex couples "faux weddings" at city hall. $12.3 million was spent renovating the hall to make civil weddings more attractive to couples without any religious foundation. In the interests of the almighty dollar, they were hoping to lure same-sex couples into spending money to celebrate non-legal pseudo-weddings on city property."

City Must Oppose AZ Immigration Law By Jan Jarboe Russell.

This comment was sent to me by a San Antonio Texas native below:

"There was an article in the San Antonio Express News concerning the Arizona Immigration Law. The basis of the article was for the City Council to take a stand and vote to condemn the immigration law. But is this sending a wrong message? When one takes a step back and removes the emotion, then all that is left are the facts. The facts are, the Arizona Immigration Law does nothing more than enforce what is already the law on the Federal books.

But there is another view on this. If the City Council votes to condemn the AZ law, then what is the City Council endorsing? What they will endorse will be the willful violation of our laws by foreigners; plain and simple. If an American was in the same situation south of the border, they would be in violation of that country's immigration laws and would be treated as a criminal; caught, jailed, and deported. So is the message to be sent that of endorsement of illegal activity by supporting illegal immigrants to continue to be allowed to cross our borders in violation of the law; or just to look at another avenue of voters to be allowed to sometime vote to help keep them in office?

But there is more. The article also implies that without the illegal immigrants, there will be no low wage workforce for harvesting crops. Basically, reducing the issue of illegal immigration to just a form of labor economics. Is this the reason the American people are to allow this form of immigration to continue? Is this why there are people in the streets advocating withdrawing of the AZ law? Take a hard look at the true facts of this law. Also, take a look at the actions in response to this law and what it really says."
