GINA MILLER — Dinesh D'Souza's latest film, "Death of a Nation," is another home run. We saw it this past Saturday in its opening weekend. It is outstanding and current, as all of his films are. In it, Mr. D'Souza presents the truth behind the Big Lies of the commie/fascist/Nazi/Ku Klux Klan/Democrat/"Progressive" collective with his in-depth research, interviews, and high-quality historical reenactments by actors who look impressively like the people they're portraying.... LARRY KLAYMAN — If you thought that the lying, deceit, and outright corruption at my once proud alma mater, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), had reached an end point -- with phony claims by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray promising to clean up the mess that resulted in the "witch hunt" by Special Counsel Robert Mueller against President Donald Trump -- think again!... JOSEPH FARAH — I've been warning everyone who would listen about the greatest threat to freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion in America today. It's not government. Instead, the overt attack on America's First Amendment comes from the corporate behemoth new media gatekeepers who are in ideological lockstep with each other -- from Google to YouTube to Facebook to Twitter to Apple to Amazon.... WASHINGTON TIMES — The 62-year-old Chinese shopkeeper had waited nearly his entire adult life to see his dream of building a church come true - a brick house with a sunny courtyard and spacious hall with room for 200 believers. But in March, about a dozen police officers and local officials suddenly showed up at the church on his property and made the frightened congregants disperse. They ordered that the cross, a painting of the Last Supper and Bible verse calligraphy be taken down. And they demanded that all services stop until each person, along with the church itself, was registered with the government, said the shopkeeper, Guo.... (more)

With 100 percent of the precincts counted, Mr. Balderson, a state senator, was clinging to lead of 50.1 percent to 49.2 percent over Mr. O'Connor, Franklin County recorder.... (more)

They're risking their lives ... to contain these devastating fires so they can save our lives."... (more)

MICHAEL OBERNDORF — Once upon a time, boys and girls, there was a country, unique in the world and in history, where the people were not subjects of the whims and delusional rule of tyrannical kings and other potentates, but lived free under the Rule of Law, laid out in a constitution written by the People themselves. It clearly enumerated the powers they granted to the government, not the other way 'round. It also listed (and guaranteed) rights granted to them by God, not by government, and thus "unalienable."... BRUCE DEITRICK PRICE — No less an authority than Robert Sweet, President of the National Right to Read Foundation (NRRF), said there are a dozen good phonics programs and which one is best doesn't matter that much. This answer is reassuring; it furthers my resolve not to pretend I know which one is best. My goal is to make sure everyone understands why phonics is superior, and that phonics offers a lot of variety and creativity.... (more)

WESLEY PRUDEN — Donald Trump's critics have made a wonderful contribution to our golden age of letters. But who could have guessed that this glorious abundance of creative writing would be found in political commentary? The president's detractors compete to be the first to describe how he finally comes a cropper, with his carcass nailed to the barn door by Robert Mueller, who was commissioned to find the evidence of collusion with the Russians. Everybody knows the evidence is so abundant a child could find it.... (more)

CNBC — Apple, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and Spotify clamped down on content by Alex Jones Monday. WASHINGTON TIMES — Things move very quickly in the media realm, and in quirky ways. Despite the fact that Apple, Facebook, YouTube and Spotify banned controversial broadcast host and "Infowars" creator Alex Jones, he still led the national trends on Twitter throughout Monday. Such is the irony of social media. Certain content producers are banished from busy sites for violating "community rules" about the nature and tone of content -- then the public can't wait to talk about them. And talk they did.... WASHINGTON TIMES — Ben Shapiro may consider InfoWars is a "dumpster fire," but he still says Apple, Facebook, and YouTube were wrong to ban the channel from their platforms. The editor in chief of The Daily Wire told readers on Monday that the swift termination from InfoWars from major social-media platforms is a sterling example of "the political Left" in action. His take: Purposefully ambiguous guidelines allow companies to target anyone they choose at will under the guise of combating "hate speech."... (more)

WESLEY PRUDEN — Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) rarely kills, but it wounds, and it might be fatal to the Democratic crusade to take back the House. That struggle is just beginning, and one Democratic pollster says Democrats, despite their successful run on Fort Knox to build an abundant campaign war chest, feel more "exhausted" by the current news cycle than Republicans do.... ROBERT KNIGHT — During the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s, Chinese communist dictator Mao Zedong's Red Guards marched people through the streets in large dunce caps. The victims had said or done something outside the canon of Chinese Marxism. An Americanized version of public scapegoating is unfolding daily as tweets, emails, phone calls or writings, some of which go back many years, are held up as evidence of wrong thinking, circa 2018. Although not remotely comparable to Mao's vicious treatment of dissidents, the penalties can be harsh -- loss of job, income, social standing and being publicly branded as an enemy of "diversity."... The National Rifle Association taunted gun control activist David Hogg and his group's Saturday protest at its Fairfax, Virginia, headquarters by noting his security.
