Is this my new reality?

A friend of my just found this in an ABCNews article:

For the rest of the country, the statistics are familiar and grim. Since the recession began, 7.3 million jobs have disappeared. Nearly 2.5 million homes have been repossessed. Unemployment is at 9.6 percent & economists don't expect unemployment to come down significantly anytime soon.

In part, that's because of how the unemployment rate is calculated. It's based on a survey of households. Only out-of-work people who are looking for jobs are counted as unemployed. Those who have quit looking out of discouragement aren't included. As the economy improves, more of these people will start looking for jobs and will be counted again as unemployed. That will drive up the unemployment rate, at least for a while.

Town Hall Exchange Sparks Big Buzz by Mike Krumboltz http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/94017?fp=1

Obama held a town hall meeting dedicated to economic issues on Monday. The event played a part in Obama's high-profile push to rally support ahead of November's high-stakes election midterms. However, it was a frustrated supporter of the president who captured the Web's attention after remarking that she's "exhausted" of defending the man she voted for.

The woman, who identified herself as a veteran and middle-class CFO, did not give her name and prefaced her question with respect, saying, "I'm deeply honored to be in this forum and so grateful for CNBC for making the forum available so you can speak to American citizens just like myself." But then the tough question came out...

"Quite frankly, I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for, and deeply disappointed with where we are right now. I have been told that I voted for a man who said he was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class. I'm one of those people. And I'm waiting, sir. I'm waiting. I — I don't feel it yet ... Is this my new reality?"

I could not have said this better myself. This quote should go down in the history books.

Little does this woman know this is the reality Obama messiah has always had for her and others like her. This "town hall" was very selective in who they allowed to participate...primarily his supporters. It is also coinkydink that yesterday they announced the recession ended in June 2009...less than 45 days before the tidal wave of rejection hits them square in the face in the upcoming election in Nov. For over 14 million unemployed, the recession has never ended and won't for quite some time. Look at the overwhelming demand the food banks are under. That demand is a good indicator for when the end of a recession occurs.

I don't know what his analysts and advisors are looking at or smoking, but there is no way this recession has ended; unemployment is still near 10%; jobs are still being lost with very little incentive to create new ones; the economy continues to struggle just to maintain where it is at right now; people are fearful of the impending tax increase this administration is planning on with the expiring Bush tax cuts (which will result in additional spending...no reduction in any debt); the housing market continues to falter as foreclosures are on the rise...by my view, this recession is clearly continuing and there is nothing to show anything has ended...but the people's lives as they knew it before this administration came to power.

Yes, lady, this is your new reality. Are you glad you voted for "hope and change"?

The dumbing of America

Today's American's are so easily duped by imagery, double talk and looks. Common sense is not prevalent. How could anyone like Barack Hussein Obama literally come out of nowhere, with no traceable background, beat one of the Clintons for the nomination, put the MSM to sleep that absolutely no investigational reporting was done to even verify this man, let alone his citizenship?

Not even conservative radio sounded the alarm. They were muzzled by "unknown forces" (probably the FCC) to keep quiet. Only the few conservative web sites like World Net Daily and writers like Joan Swirsky dared to say, "Hey, wait a minute, who is this guy and were did he come from"?

Yes, lady, this is your new reality.
